Lyon CL QF Post-Match Thread

Nothing that Nathan Ake and Harry Winks won't solve.

If pep is to stay & I hope he does then he needs to be here for 3 more seasons to rebuild this team. We need several key players. Sadly I can’t see pep staying more than 1 more season so I can see him going now. Makes no sense to the club or pep staying one more year & with covid this would be the time to go :-(

We created enough to win the game.

It's not Pep's fault we missed a number of really good chances.

It's not Pep's fault Walker played them onside for their 1st.

It's not his fault their 2and goal was incorrectly given.

It's also not Pep's fault that Ederson turned into a sunday league goalie at the most inopportune moment for their 3rd.

The players didn't do their jobs mate.
I see your points but I just think if we go with our normal game and use the energy of foden and Bernardo we win easily. We had very little control that first half.

walker was there because he does t know how to play wing back and dinho doesn’t know how to play in a back 3.

no excuse for sterlings miss but we have them in us every game. Second goal was pure corruption.

Pellegrini with an inferior squad lost 0-1 on aggregate against Real Madrid who ended up winning the tournament. Pep lost for the 4th straight time in Quarterfinals, against fucking Lyon 1-3. Please explain that
Pellegrini finished 4th with 66 points, level with the rags.

Could have accepted it if the ref had at least gone over to the monitor to make his own decision instead of leaving it to the most in experienced official ever to take part of a major quarter final.
What’s hard to take is it’s the 3rd season in a row Var has fucked us at the QF stage of the CL

Top clubs slip up sometimes. It happens.

But when we go out to Lyon and our supporters aren't remotely surprised...

Hell, most of us knew this was likely to happen the moment we saw the lineup. Most of us thought, at least on some level, "Oh shit, Pep's overthought it again". And we were proven right.

When getting knocked out of the UCL by inferior teams ceases to be shocking, something is seriously wrong.

BT showing the ref about to blow whistle on the Laporte foul but changed his mind, maybe he saw they were about to score

Oh there’s absolutely no doubt, 100% certain, that UEFA fucked us over tonight with the help of their puppet officials on the pitch and in the VAR bunker. They got their revenge that they were always gonna get at some point

But if Pep and the players had not fucked up so badly they wouldn’t have had the opportunity to get their revenge

Tbh I’m angry but not distraught as I’m certain the German rags would have swatted us aside with ease and when we do win it... and one day we will win it.. I want to be there to see it

You been living under a rock?

Might be leaving, so what? he's a professional, if the manager felt he wasn't if the right frame of mind to play or didn't deserve to play because he wants away then he shouldn't have played. He definitely wasn't the worse on the pitch
