Lyon CL QF Post-Match Thread

How did Sterling miss that
Let’s not go down the VAR excuse route again, at 1-1 Walker seemed to push over what’s his name in the box but got away with it, the referee did ok. Pep picked the wrong team for the wrong reasons. It’s done we’re out and that’s that.
Give over he didn't push him over, the player chose to go down because he ran out of space. That player also escaped several yellow cards for diving all night and should have been off the pitch you're going to play that game. Even Peter Walton thought it should have been ruled out, when does he ever not side with a ref?

If your heel is clipped and your feet crash together, accidental or not you're going to ground and the opposition player has caused it. How on earth is anyone blaming Laporte for being tripped? He didn't choose to fall over, like their player did.

This hit the bail on the head, if we go out to s great Bayern then faif enough but this Lyon tram wete a gift opponent. Although pissed at Pep don't think there is anyone better out thete and yet again VAR ?

We don't need someone better, we need someone like Zidane who won three CLs in a row by just trusting the players to express themselves and not changing the system every game. Ideally Pep would just adapt that mentality but doesn't seem likely.

The biggest incorrect statement in world football is that Pep is perceived as a good champions league manager.
He is NOT, he was only good at Barca due to a once in a lifetime player that won games on his own.
Can anyone honestly say that pep will ever win us the CL with comical tactics like tonight?
Fucking no chance the guys a good league manager but a fraud on the European stage.
Its absolute bullocks to call him a good manager in the games at this level.

Those glaring chances go in, we win and I guarantee we're all sat here smugly saying "Pep masterclass".

We had enough chances to win the game. The players didn't take them. That cannot be the manager's fault.

While we most likely would have won if we had taken our chances and been better defensively, I think very few would have gone with masterclass.

Poor from quite a few players but also poor from the manager.

At this stage of the competition you have to be on your game at both ends of the pitch. As with a few games over the season when it really mattered, we weren’t really at it.
