Lyon (H) - Post Match Thread

Personally I think both are weak. I’m
Sure that not everyone will agree but I am certainly not as convinced on Laporte as Pep and others seem to be.
I rate them both individually, but am not convinced about them as a pairing. Perhaps against the cannon fodder, when they’re unlikely to be charged with much defending. But I think they’re a bit soft to play together against any proper side at the moment - mentally, perhaps, rather than physically.

It’s a weird feeling isn’t it.
It’s supposed to be the biggest club competition in the World, yet when we lose in it I really couldn’t give a flying fuck!
Yet when we lose a league game I’m fucked off for days & days.
What an embarrassing comment please delete it. You are no City fan with embarrassing stupid comments like that.

Stop tinkering with the line up, no one needs resting yet, Bernardo out wide baffling, and if Aguero is fit he plays , Gundo goes missing in games,
Sane on the bench, have a good look at yourself Pep. Angry as fuck.

Couple of people have mentioned intensity and that is what it boils down to. When we’re at it, not many can live with us. Certainly not Lyon regardless of who we put out.

We’ve definitely got a bit of after the lord mayor’s show going on and that’s why it surprised me we didn’t do more in the summer. Nothing sharpens the focus like new players arriving.

Been to the game and a few things stand out and not just from tonight: Delph should be nowhere near a team aiming to win the CL. He isnt a left back and struggles against any decent opposition. Gundogan offers nothing. No dynamism, no thrust, just exists in that midfield. Sterling, again, no end product. Jesus doesnt fill me with any confidence and isnt anywhere near the level of Kun. Bernardo out wide is a waste. Sane has to play every game, just baffling why hes not starting regularly. The biggest worry is Fernandinhio who all season looks jaded. Pray its not a season too far for him as we need him seeing how we decided not to sign a 2nd defensive midfielder in the summer. Finally, the crowd....embarassingly quiet especially in that 2nd half when we got the goal and we needed a real lift...then... nothing and the booing at the start is cringe worthy. The empty seats were no surprise, thousands of them. Right got it off my chest....back to basics for Cardiff, the right players playing in the right position and we will be fine.

Honestly I believe our CB's are incredibly weak I do not rate any of them and think they fold under pressure, really poor choices made when investing in that position for me.

That being said our attack does 9/10 get us out of jail and we had enough chances to turn that around 2nd half so let's put it down to a bad night and move on. The group will be tough now though and I predict a difficult game in Germany.

Maybe we need a challenge though to wake us up a bit!

Jesus seems to be really struggling. At the momentI think we would be better playing Raheem up front if Kun needs a rest

We as fans need to be more humble too. Lots of talk about giving Foden a run out once we had a comfortable lead lol.

Oh and congratulations to Jason Denayer - he looked comfortable at this level and will hopefully now get his career back on track.
