Lyon (H) - Post Match Thread

I think we learned a few things tonight:

Ndombele is a beast and could be the midfielder we are lacking.

Gael Clichy is a better attacking left back than Delph

Jesus needs to drastically up his game or we need to look for another striker. He goes missing way too much.

Fekir is a very decent player.

Too slow to make changes tonight, we should of brought Sane and Mahrez on at half time, shite night all round.

My grandma is a better attacking left back than Delph. And she's been dead for 5 years.

That’s it! Sign Fekir and Ndombele

Stop tinkering with the line up, no one needs resting yet, Bernardo out wide baffling, and if Aguero is fit he plays , Gundo goes missing in games,
Sane on the bench, have a good look at yourself Pep. Angry as fuck.

pretty much bang on what i came on to post, if we had played Sane and Aguero from the start he could have rested them mid 2nd half if it had gone to plan, secure the the game then rest players not rest players and try to secure the game, 3 points chucked in the bin imo

The one positive tonight was that it was the first game of the group stages so we have 5 games to put this right.

If we play this way in the KO rounds we are in big trouble, we mid KDB more than people realise.

Until he returns we should go 4-1-4-1
The only 4 places up for grabs being the back 4

Ederson in goal.
Ferny as the holding midfielder
Sterling on the right, Sane on the left.
Both Silva's in the middle.
Kun up front.

Not sure what happens with Mahrez.

It was a bit shit, but at least it was in the CL with plenty of opportunities to put right. Plus who really gives a shite about the CL anyway

I’d have been really pissed off if we dropped PL points like this.

The sign were there against wolves tbh, good sides that are good enough to keep the ball coupled with pace and power are like kryptonite to us. We have to learn from these games

Yeah possibly overstated. Maybe on second thoughts a 4.
Do think though that him and Stones were stitched up royally by the Midfield and Delph/Walker who were all shocking.

Can’t remember when we gave the ball away so much and didn’t look arsed about getting it back.

We were that poor that if it had been a game in another part of the world with a more dodgy reputation I’d be shaking my head.
