Just seen the email from city with the travel instructions (from Lyon club) to ground. Interesting because they are quite different from the way you would plan to go based on travel maps. They tie in with what someone posted earlier from when everton played here. Basically they are trying to keep the fans apart on the way to the ground but it sounds OK. Free buses to the stadium from Parc Du Chene (T5 tram), and then free buses back to Bellecour after the game. For drinking before, agree there's not much at bellecour - massive square - unless they allow you to drink cans there. I'm going to try the 42 bar in the afternoon (it's a bit out of the way), but there's also a cracking bar not far from there called beer o'clock if you like your beer (google it if interested).
