Was thinking of investing in one of these, have always been a windows man myself. Anyone have a Mac and would you recommend it over a Windows laptop.

They cost considerably more, is it really worth that extra money or are you paying for the brand?

I love mine, totally user friendly and cool in so many ways, hard to describe really, simple things that work and work really effectively.

I always liked pc's but now I'd never go back.

I'd recommend getting it from john lewis for the extra warranty included, unless you want a different spec.

I can guarantee only this: once you've used a Mac you will never want to use a PC ever again.

I have to go into work and use a PC; there's more computing power in my phone.

I wouldn't choose a mac over a similarly priced windows laptop, you can get so much more for your money. And I think personally OS X is oversimplifying things. Much prefer Windows 7, polished with good functionality.

Get on, youll love it mate. Got one a few months back and wont ever get a PC again unless its for gaming which i dont do that much anymore. They're defiantly worth the extra you pay you wont regret getting one.

It all depends on your use really theres no point on spending that much on money on one if your just going to browsing the web or typing stuff up. If you do get one though you'll realise just why everyone rates them so highly. I got my new one just a couple of months ago and i love it already. Also don't worry about having to get used to it as their so user friendly and quite customisable.

I love mine. Can't stand using pc's now I have one. I've never had a single problem with my mac and its really user friendly.

Once you've used mac you won't go back

I just bought one coulple weeks ago and already hate using my PC at work. Still finding my way aound my mac but enjoying doing so

It really depends on what you're gonna use it for. I have a macbook which I used for iphone programming for a while, and using garageband.

If you play games, then you need to consider that depending on which games you play, but I'd recommend one, doubtful that I'll ever get a windows PC again,

What do you need it for? If you can't think of a specific reason for getting one; don't.

I can only think of three reasons for owning a Mac.

1. You need/want to use OS X-only software (and there is some superb software around for OS X) BUT don't have the expertise to set yourself up with a hackintosh.
2. You are completely computer illiterate and want to learn how to use a computer through personal support. One-to-One is the best example of this.
3. You are a smug person with more money than sense who wishes to be trendy and therefore wish to identify yourself to your fellow Starbucks frequenters.

You aren't seriously trying to argue that Macs have more computing power than a similarly-priced PC are you? In terms of hardware, a PC will make a mockery out of a Mac. A Mac is always behind hardware-wise. I think it was something like one-and-a-half years between PCs getting i7s and Macs getting i7s. Graphics cards are always one generation behind too. Pure power is one reason why you absolutely shouldn't get a Mac. Try again.
