RIP Tony Ogden by the way - died in 2006. Loved World of Twist. The Storm is one of the great pop records of all time in my book.

I was into dub sex. Saw them at the hac once.

Swerve is still brilliant, after all these years.

Unlike a lot of bands mentioned on this thread, they didn't suddenly adopt the funky drummer beat and baggy clothes the second The Roses and The Mondays were on TOTP.

There was a Manchester music scene long before "Madchester" which included bands like Dub Sex, the Fall, The Railway Children and if course the granddaddies, New Order and The Smiths.

I'm glad you pointed this out. I've been in various bands since the mid eighties and played with all sorts of luminaries from the Manchester music scene and yet I don't feel like I can contribute to this thread because I never adopted the look of a monkey and I thought the Hacienda was shite.
