2:3 derby in '93. When Quinn scored to put is 2:0 up I ran up and down the Kippax hugging strangers on both sides. That was also one of my lowest feelings after a game. Relegations aside, it was up there with the home quarter final FA Cup defeat against Spurs.
Speaking of which, the celebration when Sheron put us one nil up was one of the craziest I can remember.
Other ones which spring to mind....
All the goals in the last derby at Maine Road.
Spurs 3:4 (the third and fourth goals).
Liverpool 2:1 (disputed second goal from White).
Birmingham penultimate game of the season (Bob Taylor winner).
I know the OP precluded Gillingham but I think that was the strangest goal I've ever celebrated. It almost seemed like a holy experience and that we didn't know what we were celebrating aside from it being immense. Maybe that's because I didn't really have any hope whatsoever (for some reason I don't understand now) that we had any chance of equalising. Maybe it was because the 'minutes on the board' had only just come out and I wasn't conditioned to knowing exactly how much time was left. Or maybe it was because we had had so many years without any luck that the idea of last minute vital goals was lost on me.
