Just found this:

He looks a real hunk.

Where did you find him?
Me and my friend hunted him down.

Upon reflection, the Tetley Bitterman has more than a little Yewtree about him.
Bottoms up.

Uncanny!!

I was thinking earlier today about starting a thread about naming the person who divided opinion most on Bluemoon - and the person I was going to suggets was Thatcher.

Totally divides opinion, not just on here, but in life as a whole.

One thing I do admire about her was her strength to stand by her decisions (whether they were correct or not) as opposed to today's lot, who change their thoughts like the wind, to garner favour.

I will admit, the recent paedophile revelations haven't shown her in a good light (if all true)

1. Thatcher - **** v legend
2. Edin Dzeko - brilliant and we don't play to his strenghts, poor touch and lazy and not good enough for us.
3. Nastasic - potential to be world class vs shite
4 (but less so now) Guidetti (shouldn't he be our 4th choice striker vs. pfff)

She modernised Britain from a state economy where most manufacturing jobs were subsidized in some way from the public purse, into a service based economy which led to Britain regaining it's 19th century position of relevance in global finance.

And all it took was the complete decimation of the working classes and surrendering any potential for a stable economy based on the bedrock of manufacturing to the Germans.

A near bankrupt service based economy based on nationalise banks lol

Huge misconception that Thatcher ruined the coal industry and closed most of the mines. More mines were closed under Harold Wilson..

Quite correct foxy, Just as the "Thatcher the milk snatcher" drivel ignores that it was in fact the labour government that enacted this.

On Sunday I wore a T shirt I got in 1984, the year the miners strike started and when Mrs Thatcher was in power.

It's a Tetley Pub Hunt 1984 T shirt, and you had a card which was stamped every time you had a pint of Tetleys in a different pub, and when you got 20 stamps you got a free pint and sent your card off for the T shirt.

Ah, the 80s. They were a good time.
With the team we had!! Get the tinted glasses off.

The previous Labour administration repealed the 1946 Free Milk Act in 1968 which provided 1/3rd pint of milk for all children under 18 and removed the allowance for secondary school children, but younger ages still received it. The subsequent Tory administration removed the allowance for 8s to 11s because they needed to help pay for their promised income tax cuts. It was the reason for the cut that resonated in the minds of the public and hence the nickname was valid.
