beyond the fact there is a credit crunch, the magic of the cup still exists for only a % of fans.

if city had been drawn away to forest, we would have no doubt taken the full quota of fans to nottingham, yet, looking at city's online ticket sales (or lack of) it looks like we will struggle to muster anywhere near 25000 including forest's 6500 following.

considering many claim manchester is blue, and united fans stay dont go, probably 20000 regular blues will turn their back on the cup game.

still heres hoping for a good run

one thing that would guarentee a bigger crowd would be the more fa cup games you go to the better chance you have of getting an fa cup semi or final ticket should we reach it...i know loyalty points already exist!!!...but its just a thought

correct, should be done on a seperate points system,to many corporate tickets are given away by the fa for this final, each club should get about 45% or more 'its a final for the fans'

yep the fans dont get anywhere near enough for the fa cup final anyway something like 30k out of 90k are official fans...

It would be fun to see SWP against the club who said he would never make it.

They only lost out on £21M.

I prefer cup matches, I know people who only go to the cup matches too.

We have a chance of winning the cup.

exactly...i got pissed off with that a couple of years ago and posted on here words to that effect......last season i stopped going to some of the cup games for that exact reason.
i went to a fair amount of cup games in 06-07 season and when it came to getting a ticket for some of the bigger games, it was a no go.
i was particularly pissed off with the blackburn away game, i couldnt get a ticket....but, on reflection it was probably a good thing.....arr the good old days of stuart pearce ;p

oh how i wish i didnt get a ticket for that game!

got one of the last few too...travelled from newcastle...was a very long day

A seperate club loyalty scheme would be a good idea, the big flaw on the current system is I still get credit for going to Forest last time we played there in 2001.

There should be a rolling system for cup where the current and last two seasons are counted for all cup matches appart from european games which should also have their own system.

yep thats an excellent idea...the same should be done with uefa and league cup

its not very fair to those who went to the faores, denmark twice etc if they then dont get a ticket cos someone with more loyalty points, who has not been away in europe get a ticket for the final

i love the fa cup, but there comes a stage when certain fans for various reasons just cant be arsed, why i dont know maybe its because in this instance were playing a shit team but for me that makes it all the more interesting because chances are were not going to play Forest again for a few years, so im more inclined to go.Prices reduced even more than they are now would help as would a different loyalty scheme.

The magic of the Fa Cup?

It's just another cup that one of the 'big 4' usually win which is why most people arent too interested in it these days. Last year was the first time in ages that the final was between 2 teams not considered to be 'big' by Sky/BBC/dick head on the street.

I would have given Forest more tickets if they want them.Going to be embarrasing explaining to rags at work why we cant get 25,000 of our fans to the match.

I have heard that stat banded about but it is off the mark, refering to 1995 and Everton being the previous time.

Chelsea were not considered Big 4 when they were winning it v Villa and Boro, it was a stepping stone to bigger things for them and can be for City.
