He’s going to be fucking awesome this season I tell ya he’s going to be fuckin awesome barney.
He does seem to be growing into the David Silva-style role of holding the ball when necessary, playing the killer pass when it’s on, but seems like he might even have a keener eye for goal than King David. We are fortunate to be living through this era of City players. I’m not sure of your age, but I was also privileged to see the supposed Golden Era of the late 60’s early 70’s, too, but this team has surpassed it already. The only “not quite as good”part of this go around is the lack of local Manchester/Lancashire lads in the team.

I agree with all of this. I also grew up in the Mercer era and that time was pretty special. I always believed Colin Bell was City’s best ever player but last year I had to concede that his crown has been passed on David Silva who will very likely pass it on soon to KDB. This is truly a great time to be a City fan. This group of players is very special and the coaching and infrastructure at the Club is absolutely top class. Your comments about the lack of local talent is true but it’s a global game now and I guess that’s the price we have to pay for success (although I live in hope that The Academy can find a few more Fodens in the coming years)

I am sure Sane had a similar boot on after that horrendous challenge at Cardiff. I think the initial diagnosis was 3 months and he was back playing in 2 weeks

Looking at the TV match coverage again. The injury looked very innocuous, no visible signs of an impact or major turn of the ankle.

He went down in the area on 5 minutes. After treatment he played on for 20 minutes until they were 2-0 up then sat down and took his boot off.

Hopefully it was just a minor sprain.

It looked to me like he got his studs caught when he was fouled in the area.
