Not sure if this has been brought up before... sorry if it did.

just wondering how many of you agree it was waste of money to buy maicon especially that we already have zaba and mika, plus he is over 30.

When did we sign him ^?

On your point though, I agree, it does seem somewhat farcical, unless he can have a Vieira-esque impact.

We've got the two best right back sin the Prem. If he stayed injury free and continued to get better with experience, Micah could be the best in the world.

So we sign Maicon... bizarre to say the least.

Seemed like a pointless signing from the start. He's not going to be the same player as Zaba or Richards (who are younger and used to the English game) but doesn't seem like he's there for the Vieira effect.

Strange signing for me.

I agree that he wasn't a needed purchase but it seems evident that Richards will be used at CB when needed and we have cover at RB then. Maicon was bought for hsi width in a 3-5-2 formation with Kolarov the otherside in mind. That's the answer to last seasons 'lack of width' problem, a cheap answer really and not the proper answer but an answer regardless. I'd have liked to have seen the money spent on Maicon get Hoillet, a no brainer of a deal imo.

Think it's with the idea of allowing Micah to cover at centre half if necessary. He didn't cost much and could prove very useful in some games, he's proven to be one of the best attacking full backs in the world and must have a great mentality. He did a bit of a rallying call recently and it carries weight with him even though he hasn't done much at City yet. Now imagine if scott sinclair tried to do that...

Give the guy a chance

We were all scratching our heads when Paddy V arrived and in the end he played a vital role in us winning the FA cup. So lets be patient, he may have a similar effect who knows.
Totally different time in the clubs growing stage

It's probably more bizarre to expect glass legs Micah to stay injury-free, to be fair
