Maicon

Maicon has added a great attacking option to our team. Just a pity that most of the time when he is free his team mates choose to go a different way.

For me Maicon has the best cross in our squad.

I thought he played quite well a part from the goal.I think he looks better than he did when made is debut at Stoke.I have to say he looks brilliant running at are rivals full backs

Maicon does offer us options and has improved as he has become fitter.
Apart from falling asleep when Real scored, he didnt have a bad game yesterday but we largely ignored him throughout the first half.
We appeared obsessed with going left to Kolorov who was history by half time and definately used Maicon more after that.
I have no doubt he will contribute positively before this season is over.

Maicon's a strange one, I was against his signing as I thought it was unfair on Richards and Zaba then after we signed Nastasic I thought Micah was going to play as a centre back with Maicon and Zaba rotating then I saw Nastasic play and knew we found a potential worldy and future captain(now I know in a few year time he will be world class) back to Maicon after saturday I was thinking "fuck he's a player I'll hold my hands up and admit I got it wrong!" then for the 25 minutes he looked like he was picked out of the crowd and told "go play son" then he played a one, two with Aguero and was unlucky not to score then he went back to being shite for the rest of the game, I can't make my mind up about Dougie.

So that's both Maicon and Garcia are shite in your opinion

You can add in Sinclair.

Your football knowledge is indeed outstanding if you can judge a new player when they have played but a handful of games between them

He did play well last night (as he did against Spurs). But, christ; that was schoolboy defending by him for the goal. I wouldn't mind, but he was aware that Benzema was close by (earlier in the move, he looks over his shoulder to check where the Frenchman is).

Maicon informs Mourinho that Benitez is Chelsea´s new coach, a bemused Mourinho responds "He should take Materazzi as an assistant", they both laugh it off. :)

Maicon will be great when looking for attacking options when we are playing lesser opposition. He'll be a total liability when we are playing teams who can attack us.

Think this sums it up.

The same criticism that is levelled at Kolarov although Maicons quality is much more.

He is certainly an asset in the squad as his experience off the pitch and on the training ground will also be invaluable.

defensively average, great going forward...basic distribution iffy, fantastc crossing ability(that volleyed cross was something else vs Real)

overall, i wouldnt start him vs any of the top teams but he is a great sub to bring on if we are chasing the game...once richards is back and once clichy is fit the 3 players that shold play fullback are clichy, zabba and richards.....

kolorov has always been weak defensively and so is maicon

zabba and richards while not as good as going forward as maicon have both massively improved in this area and are better defenders

Which is also why Kolarov should never be playing in the top games.

I agree, hopefully Zaba will take the spot on Sun should Clichy be out.

He did well, but he cost us a goal with schoolboy marking.

Maicon lost sight of his man , sure ......

but you could also have a go at Joe Hart there too ... ANY ball slung into the six yard box SHOULD be the goalkeepers , and Hart could have made life much more difficult for Benzema.

maicon is a better defender than micah and zaba , people should watch less porno and more football , also for their eyes healty

He didn't seem worthy to lace Micah's boots three weeks ago:

If you insist......

I still wouldn't prioritise him over Zaba or Richards,as,like i've pointed out,he isn't the quality he once was and his defending is questionable, however, hands up,under the right circumstances,he is definitely alot more useful than i thought he'd be.

I'm surprised how quicky he has recovered from his achilles injury though.......

Why will he be a liability against top teams? When we went 4 at the back against Madrid he looked good and we conceded none. Same against Villa, played good and we conceded none. Rate him highly personally.
