Fluke for me. Cross.

rubbish,in the position he was in you dont hit the ball that hard across the goal with the outside of your foot if your crossing it,fantastic goal

My thoughts exactly, I cant see a top class player crossing it with that much power, I think when he looks up he can see the keeper has drifted of his line & decides to try to blast it into the far side of the net, fantastic goal.

Sorry if its been covered but I am amazed how many people I have met today that think the Maicon goal for brazil was a fluke.
I thought it was a fantastic goal, he saw the keeper just of his line & Maicon put it just where he wanted with curl & power.

Looked like he meant it to me .......

goalkeeper left the gap , and he put the ball in it!

Easy tiger. Thats my opinion.

Watch it again and you can clearly see that he is looking across the line to find a team mate.

Hit it with lots of power which you wouldn't normally do for a cross when you're that close, so I think he meant it.

of course he looked up before striking it. That just means he was aware of who was where

I think it was a fluke. Bad goalkeeping IMHO. If this was done by anyone but a Brazilian then we wouldn't be having this debate.
