good on you mate. I wanted to take my grandson sooner but his mum is a(armchair) rag and I had a little battle to get her to accept that some kids are born blue :)Great post Bill. My little lad is 2 and a half years old and has been to three games this season - hoping it transpires into a lifetime of memories for him when he is older!
Isn't there a plaque or something where the centre spot used to be, or did I just dream that
There's a small circle with a time capsule underneath, it's in the rough area where the whole circle was, but nowhere near the centre spot. Last time i was there it had been vandalised.

Nice post pal. Some great memories. Wish i can remember my first game but cant, would be circa 76. Catch you for a pint on Wednesdaywell that took me back.
it was an unbelievable journey through almost 40 years for me. I was in tears at the last game. sat where I once stood with my man and my dad from 1965 onwards. both not with us now of course but they absolutely loved city, how they afforded to take me at times i'll never know. now I take my kids (lol) and my grandson to every home game and as many away games as poss, I will saviour that for all time. we'll be in Gladbach Tuesday and I can't wait. many many families will have been exactly the same. that's city you see, its about people, sure a title win here and there is great but in truth its nothing over walking to the stadium with my grandson clutching my hand and holding on through the crowds. his face when we score is most likely just what I was like in my first season.
here's to 50 plus years for him to enjoy.
Ah we had such a nice kit and they had to get it in there somewhere ;)Don't want to be the party-pooper, but not quite sure why the play-off final's in there.

It was 63,000 capacity in the mid to late 1960s and that was way after the Platt Lane Stand was seated.I think the original was 55k standing, before the platt lane was seated, late fifties I think.
