Liverpool FC praised by fans for easing the burden on their finances / airlines dealt financial blow
In these days of austerity and crippling rising bills, Liverpool football club were praised by fans for bowing out of the FA Cup, losing at Wayne Rooneyless' Plymouth Argyle. One Koppite took to X - formally known as twitter - to applaud the club for helping fans out during these hard times.
Eamon, from Shamrock, Ireland wrote "great news for us reds, should we have reached the final, we fans would have had four more flights and hotels to pay for including two trips to Wembley on top of the League Cup final too." Eamon added "it was a fantastic gesture by the club to be totally aware of the sacrifices we fans make in travelling to games far and wide and to throw this game as they did shows how much respect and love the club has for our fans in helping us not to have to budget and tighten the strings further during the remainder of the season."
Although while the fans praised the club, Aer Lingus, Ryan Air and FinnAir issued statements stating Liverpool's exit was 'bad for business' for their airlines, who make most of their profits transporting Liverpool fans to each game.
