If your going to do it, make sure you do properly, i.e with full building regs approval and planning (if needed) otherwise it adds very little to the value of the house, it will cost you more but the investment is worth it

One word. Basement.
Can't afford the mortgage to do it properly, and we know we will never want to move from where we are, and that in the future it can be an office or whatever, when the kore two leave. I was surprised at the cost and work involved for a proper loft conversion.Ducado said:If your going to do it, make sure you do properly, i.e with full building regs approval and planning (if needed) otherwise it adds very little to the value of the house, it will cost you more but the investment is worth it
