Making the South Stand our own

If the side stands are ever expanded, and it's a long time away, that will be the time to address policing issues and put the away fans out the way and out of the south stand. Unfortunately it's not possible otherwise, I don't think the trial of away fans in the CB worked particularly well as it was a CL game and also I don't think many city fans responded positively to the survey asking whether they wanted them moved.

Logically selling back to front will enable the two singing ends to be joined together more frequently as I still think next season we will have the problem of the singing being broken up rather than one unified end behind the goal.

If the away fans are given the South Stand behind the goal, due to Police advice, there seems no reason why they cannot be put within levels 2 and 3 rather than again splitting up our bank of support. I cannot help but think if this was possible the club has missed a trick there and of course once season ticket holders are in place any alterations will be more difficult and contentious in the future.

Fair enough the point about throwing things but it seems to work at Newcastle, Sunderland etc.
 
Does no-one else feel the away fans help add to the atmosphere? If there's been just shy of 3000 of them then there's some chants going back and forth. Anyone remember the fat lad who supported Bolton? He made Mr Blobby look like an Ethiopian marathon runner. He was getting it all game.
 
Everyone wanting a south stand to be just City must of not bothered going to Villarreal at home in the Champions League. We had the whole stand, barely filled it and was as quiet as a mouse for 90 minutes minus throwing things at their players. Our home support is turd, moving fans wont change that. East/South stand only has atmosphere because these people would rather stand staring at away fans than watching the match, take their away fans from them and you have the Villarreal effect.

Almost as if the South Stand against Villarreal mainly consisted of people who wanted to sit down and watch the game instead of singing.

You don't get a good atmosphere by just saying "we have an end". You put like-minded people together. That's happening now.
 
You know, been thinking that pricing policy is odd. When you see that many East Stand pitchside seats are a cool £475, and level 3 in SS are £299, well, for me, there's just no contest. For those who were lucky enough to get first row in the new third level of the South Stand, the view isn't bad at all. But even if I could only get the very last row, I'd still choose it, every time, over a pitchside seat that I'm paying £176 more for. I'd be curious to know if the club shifts them all.

Front row of the new tier isn't £299, I think it is £600.

True. I missed that. But even the X-LL, X-RR etc. seats are not bad at all at £299, and there's a big drop in price down from the front section of the new extension, to the L-W seats just behind, at £380 i.e. exactly the same price as cheapest pitchside, whichever the stand.

I agree we got 2 on row z and 2 behind on aa, moved from SS lower.

Anyone who was actually at that game knows that the 'end' on that day was full of tourists and day trippers, it would be different if it had season ticket holders in there.
