I'll be there from sunday, would be good to meet up. Anyone know any decent pubs close to the stadium

The stadium I am told is a little out of KL, the main area for pubs/nightlife is Bukit Bintang. I am sure we will find a suitable establishment.

Great! Where are you guys staying? Are you flying in with AirAsia?

The pubs in the main Bukit Bintang road have now turned to massage parlors and the likes, so you might wanna skip that. Where you might want to be headed to is "Changkat" Bukit Bintang which is about 10 minutes walk from the main Bukit Bintang area. This is where all the new pubs are, with some nice local and international eateries. If you are familiar with KL though, you can't miss a mamak stall -- always in sight.

As for the stadium, it's in Bukit Jalil, about 40km from downtown KL. Surrounding the stadium are sport complexes built during the '98 Commonwealth games. So not many eateries and the likes around that area.

Since the game will be on a Monday evening, traffic will be quite bad so I don't recommend taking the cabs. (Not to mention we don't have the best cabs in the world.) That said, you might want to consider taking the train. Below is a map of the route. Take Route 4 (Sri Petaling) and stop at the second last station, Bukit Jalil.

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.myrapid.com.my/sites/default/files/rail/Klang-Valley-Integrated-Rail-System.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.myrapid.com.my/sites/default ... System.pdf</a>

Problem is though, the line closes at 1130pm. Given that the game is at 945pm, I reckon everything will end about 1145pm. There might be cabs at the exit of the stadium, but just keep these cab numbers handy.

Public Cab: +603 6259 2020
Sunlight Taxi: +603 9057 5757

Do let me know if I may be of help. Always willing to lend a fellow blue a hand. CTWD! :-)

thats great, thanks for that. So where would you suggest to meet up for a drink

Thanks for the info,

I am sure there will be a few around KL over the weekend and it would be good to have a meeting place, even on the Monday before the game to catch up for a few beers and song.

I asked Sharon for a pic of the stewardesses as something different than always doing players, the smiles on the 2 girls are something else.
WOW

As strapedia says Changkat Bukit Bintang is the best place to head to, try the Green Man they do good pub grub and a great Sunday lunch.

Green Man sounds the place, bring back some happy memories that will, a good few days guaranteed for sure.

Flying in via AirAsia on Saturday with the wife from Manila, should be good to see a City match for the first time since moving here from Manchester.

Not bought tickets for the match as was still deciding where to go for the location.

Got a hotel a few minutes from the stadium and need will work out how to get around KL as there for 4 days so need to see some sights as well as the match.

Sounds like a few are flying in from around the region, would be good to have a beer or ten over the few days we are there.

Arrive Sunday lunch time and are staying in the Bukit Bintang area, hopefully we can arrange a meeting place over the next few days.

Green Man seems a good shout,

Just bought my tickets so now everything is sorted... went for the Blue Gate Tier 2, was tempted with the green tier 1 but im sure the view from tier 2 will be good.

Should be a good few days in KL, got a few guides for travelling around via the train system.. so all is good.
