There is a huge Bosnian diaspora in St. Louis and I expect many will attend and support City.

There was an article in the paper talking about how this community in STL support City because of Edin - my favorite quote had to be this one

"I was not a Man City fan till Džeko started playing for them. Before them, he was at Wolfsburg (in Germany) and I was a fan of theirs. If he goes somewhere else, I’ll follow him. There’s talk he might go to Borussia Dortmund. If that happens, I’ll automatically stop following Man City.”

No doubt there will be a segment of Bosnians who will do that. But I'm convinced that many will also continue to support City after he's gone because there are many different paths to becoming a blue. For some, it's because they liked a certain player and started watching a game. For others, it was because blue was their favorite color growing up :)

One more note. I never watched Dzeko's games while he was at Wolfsburg, partly because the Bundesliga is not really televised here in the U.S.

Which sums up perfectly the issues I have with our "Bosnian" fans. The vast majority of them couldn't give two shits about City, they support one player, Dzeko, and that's it. They'd rather City lost with Dzeko playing than City won with Dzeko left out. Those are the types of "fans" I want nowhere near City.

I'm 200 miles from New York and totally underwhelmed by these games..... I'm sure there will be some deal struck, Chelsea win in St Louis and City win in New York.....
Both will be as competitive as a pre-pre-season game... with internationals next week no player involved in them will be busting a gut (and I don't blame them).
It certainly didn't entice me to give up my 14 hour overtime shift on Saturday to travel to NY to watch the game....

I agree with you MES. Even if I hadnt been working, I doubt I would have gone. Theres nothing that has LESS meaning than an end of season tour friendly match. Thats just in terms of watchign first class football that is. I understand the marketing/branding and the announcement of the NY FC deal. But as for just a pure footballing perspective-YAWN!!!
