Man City ladies FC

Get the buckets out at the game, give out fixtures, calenders for a £5. Car boots. You probably do most of these things but,as you have done here, spread the word. Let us and the club know you are doing your best to drum up money.

I would support the club giving the ladies some funding without a doubt, to be honest i thought they already did .

And this is the point we are making "most people think the same as you"....

Yes we have approached the club directly and like I said they do donate by supplying the "match kits" but whilst our request is "placed on file" and they are still debating whether or not they should get involved more with MCLFC, we STILL have to function, WE are A totally SELF-FUNDING club, we DO NOT want to change the name, we DO NOT want to play in any other kit but the colours of MAN CITY, but the restrictions we have is that because we use the crest of MCFC, we CANNOT put any sponsors name on a piece of kit that the crest is on.

Example; Ordinarily a grass roots amateur / semi pro club would put the name of their sponsor on the front of shirts / training kit / back of tracksuits we CANNOT do that!! the junior section do not have training kit or tracksuits because MCFC have told us they cannot put sponsors names on stuff with the City crest on. So to some degree we have the issue of a "BIG BROTHER" scenario. We are proud of being City Ladies and we want the uniformity of all players / coaches looking the same. But to get our own sponsors do we dispense of MCFC offer of playing kits ??

Lastly someone mentioned that we have "reds" playing for MCLFC....correct also Bolton-Scousers- Arsenal-Sunderland fans, our catchment area is NATIONAL not local, It is not a prerequisite that players, coaches etc have to support MCFC in order to play or coach at MCLFC the passion and committment of these non MAN CITY supporters is MAN CITY LADIES FC, we have great cohesion and great banter it's irrelevant who they support, when we pull on that shirt we play for MAN CITY !

Well for the moment anyway !!

Oh by the way the reason our funds are down.. is in order to entice better players to drive our 1st team on to our ultimate vision of playing in the top tier of the Womens game, with a hint of Professionalism and coming in line with other clubs policies re senior players, we have stopped the usual £250 signing on fee that senior players paid i.e. 36 players @ £250 = £9000 !
Therefore the 1st / Reserve pay only £30 to become a member of MCLFC also this year we have started the pathway to senior football by introducing a new U18's Development team again they too do not pay the £250, only £30 to be a member and £3 a game.....

Has anyone thought about contacting Patrick Viera? Hes been on the television etc advertising about helping local communities? Surely ladies football is in the community? Cant believe they dont fund you - what would it cost really?

This is a sad situation. You need the money, MCFC has got shed loads! Shaking buckets outside on matchday would be embarassing. Imagine how the Press would feed on that. We need the bring these two teams together in a cohesive union. Like many other people, I regard the MCFLC in a kit the same as MCFC. There will always be an association between the two teams, not just the poor relations!

Isn't there a freeze on entering this new National FA Womens' Super League effort?

MUFC abandoned their ladies team, let's not do it at City.

Any sponsorship links on your site?

It seems a shame the men's team cant support the ladies team, just got my season tickets back with lots of nice goodies , boot laces, pin badge etc and yeh think it was a nice touch but how much did it cost ????

com-on City splash a bit of dosh at the girls , how much did we spend on the soccer school in New York that was featured in the program last season and the Ladies team play on our doorstep

did see a game before a City match last year and it was quite good, but I just assumed they were part of the cub and were even paid !

Superleague is limited to eight teams for 2 seasons then bidding opens up again. City could invest then, however why not invest now? A house is build on strong foundations, not on sand. City has the potential to be the biggest CLUB in the world. It's a joke that United abandoned their team, perhaps citing expense of running the club, EXPENSE!!?! A club that turns over multi millions each year and is a global brand. Very, very poor. Surely city wouldn't align themselves with that stance? Arsenal got it right and look where they are. Equality.

Football is the number 1 participation sport for women in this country it will only get bigger, City can get fully involved NOW and support them and with the players, staff and everybody else already pulling in the right direction this could be the number 1 club in England in 5 years and the potential to be the worlds. How good would it be for the women and the men to win silverware year after year?

In order to have any proper FOOTBALL CLUB IMO all areas have to be embraced, men, women, children & community. Just what I think.

City could help increase exposure, they have social media, facebook and twitter @ManCityLadies which is followed by over 370 different people many companies and international players after only being set up since July 2011. People are starting to show their support, it'll only get bigger. Women shouldn't be second class football citizens, they deserve the opportunity!

I think its wrong that city ladies ladies dont get anything off the club as ladies football is on the up but i think the buckets and signatures off fans would be a good idea and surely etihad would donate if there was some way of advertiseing there company but get the fans on board and i am sure the club would listen i mean wots 30k to them

Just out of interest how closely do you work with your CFA Womens and Girls Officer and also the Council's Sports Development team? The reason I ask is because I work for a County FA.

There are plenty of pots out there to exploit as Womens and Girls football is a priority for both Growth and Retention and Better Players within the National Game Strategy and I cannot begin to imagine you have been told no because you have the name MCFC Ladies as I have worked with clubs under professional clubs names in my job to gain funding when they are in the same boat as you (no funding but the odd donation every now and again of kit or equipment). Half the issue is tailoring the bid to meet the needs of the funder.

If you want some support please feel free to PM me and I will try get back to you although I usually lurk in the shadows hence my post count!
