Man City Surprise signing

I personally don't think we will build a new stadium just yet but at the same time i wouldn't rule it out completely and wouldn't be hugely surprised if it did happen. It's true we can't fill our stadium at the moment but if/when we become successful we would/will. A stadium takes years to build from the start of the planning application being submitted and it going to public consultation etc etc. Our owners wouldn't wait until demand is there to start this process - they will want everything in place for when the success/demand for tickets is there.

This.

Decemberblu: Now you're just digging a hole for yourself. At the recent fans' forum, when asked if there were any plans to buy the stadium, Garry Cook said absolutely not. He said the current long-term lease deal that we have is "fantastic" and it would make no business or financial sense to buy the stadium, hence we are not going to do so.

So what your saying is an announcement that we have would be somewhat of a suprise?

In my opinion it would make business sense to purchase the stadium, as it stands all ADUG have bought is a football team. Buying the ground with surrounding land would be an asset and renting is dead money. The council also get a cut of gate receipts over 34000.

For what its worth, GC explained to the fans at one of those roadshows why we wont be buying COMS anytime soon . Cant see it being this

Haha! Yeah, i suppose it would be! But it would also be a poor decision considering it makes no financial or business sense in Cook's opinion. People take the mick out of us for not owning our ground, but the bottom line is that the deal with have with the council is fantastic. So yeah, it would be a surprise that's for sure!

I understand what he's alluded to in the past, but in the future i'd expect them to buy imo. Tbh it would be a suprise after the comments he has made.
