Man City vs Reading - Post Match Discussion

Missed Nasri. Yaya had one of his worst games today. Pablo a legend, again. Rekik did OK. Silva continues to play well.

Lacked width today. I think if Maicon or Clichy were available, we might have done better.

Didn't see the goal as I was out up until 20 minutes ago, so I can't comment on the goal.

I've seen fouls given in those circumstances, but Shorey made no attempt to challenge for the ball and just got barged out of the way by Barry as he headed it. If anything, it was a foul by Shorey for backing in.

For anyone who didn't see it

Just saw McDermott on Final Score. Not a happy bunny. He's convinced that they should have had a penalty and that the goal was a foul by Barry. However; both Kevin Kilbane and, unbelievably given his antagonism towards us in the past, Steve Claridge both said that they thought the goal was okay and that Barry simply wanted to win the ball more than Shorey did. Didn't see the goal as I was out up until 20 minutes ago, so I can't comment on the goal.

Certainly WASN'T a penalty , McDermott has got that wrong .... just a coming together of two players , as happens all over the pitch , all of the time

as for the City goal ..... well West Ham scored a similar one about a month back against Chelsea , and that too was given ...... what can a player do if he wants to win the ball , and a defender has no intention of jumping ??

I wanted Barry off for Dzeko because I thought Garcia was playing better..

Probably why I've never gone into football management.

i seem to remember everyone calling for Garcia to stay on the pitch 'for his heading ability'

:)
He must have taught Barry a thing or two ;)

Sergio for me needs a rest he is not 100%
the injury he picked up early season knock something out of him or he still not match fit

i thought that was one of his best games this season

If it hadn't been a goal, a penalty would've been more likely... McDermot is jus pissed off that his 'bore draw' tactics got bummed in the face!

Some rag posted a photo of a donkey with regards to Barry a minute or two before he scored, superb.

Wow is it me or are they completely obsessed with us more that there own team?.
They spend their Saturday afternoon hoping we lose to reading rather than christmas shopping?.

this sort of games need a goal quickly because these teams are quite like a castle of cards score 1 quickly then they fall all over

Today cannot be swept under the carpet because we got a last minute winner, things have to change we cannot keep playing like his it's so one dimensional, slow, predicable and easy to play agains. We cannot keep hoping silva, yaya, tevez and aguero to create something our tactics and how we play has to change, I said it after QPR last year that the way we play has to change its so easy to play against and hoped it would change but it hasn't. Sorry for sounding so pessimistic even though we won but they way we play HAS to change

And the majority on here will spend their Sunday watching their game hoping they lose. It's a 2 horse race so of course you will be watching the other team hoping they lose.
