Man City vs Reading - Post Match Discussion

This was a joke. No pace ,no penetration. Does Mancini not see what was clearly their game plan from kick off. Our forwards don't look like they have a goal in them. Having played lots of games where we trained with 5 defenders against 7 attackers its easy when they have no width. Until we can get behind defences and cut it back to an attacker running in then we will see more of the same. Pace on the wing unsettles defenders and creates space for attackers.

Just saw McDermott on Final Score. Not a happy bunny. He's convinced that they should have had a penalty and that the goal was a foul by Barry. However; both Kevin Kilbane and, unbelievably given his antagonism towards us in the past, Steve Claridge both said that they thought the goal was okay and that Barry simply wanted to win the ball more than Shorey did. Didn't see the goal as I was out up until 20 minutes ago, so I can't comment on the goal.

Yaya seemed to stroll casually around the field today. Sergio coming back to his best. Nasty was impeccable. Finally I thought Rekik did well for a first game, on those odd occasions when they actually passed him the ball.

Damn it's hard to break down 10-1 sometimes.

Enjoy your Xmas everyone!

Brian McDermott moaning like fuck on Sky; not sure what his point is, if you set your team up to play like he did, you shouldn't be surprised if you lose.

I'm assuming the penalty he's referring to is the Rekik-Tabb one, if so, he can jog on.

Solid defending.

As for the goal they summed it up well, Shorey didn't wish to play the ball and Baz just wanted it more.

Anyone else clock Milners inch perfect ball to Dzeko from right back???

I thought there was a possible handball against Nastasic in the penalty area.

He withdraw his arm but looked to me it was after it hit him.

So many blocks and deflections from Reading. You'd have expected at least one of them to deflect in. Then again, I was also expecting to see Pogrebnyak get a yellow at some point. Phew. Let off the embarrassment hook today!

Definitely no foul by Barry, he was perfectly entitled to challenge for that ball.
