Man City vs Reading - Post Match Discussion

We had three shots on target.
Reading should have had a penalty when Nasty used his in our own box.

Yes I'd say we had our fair share of luck today. Not that we couldn't have won the game without it, but we clearly had some luck.

Looking at the replays, it should have been a penalty for the handball by Nastassic (Rekik and Tabb was just a collision, nothing more).

reading parked the bus from the first minute and we had many chances throughout but not the final touch. we definitely deserved the 3 points

thank the lord for mancini time!

Nastasic's hand was by his side and from the replay it looks like he was trying to move it away. The ball was fired at him from 5 yards. If that was a pen then Pearce hauling down Toure was as nailed on a penalty as you'll ever see.

Oh, and if a defender blocks a shot that is clearly going in then that counts as a shot on target in my book, there were 10 of them.

It wasn't a pen because it wasn't handball. According the the laws of the game an offense of handball occurs when a player deliberately puts his hand to ball the other criteria is when the ball hits the hand and its in a unnatural postion

I saw nothing on MOTD to suggest that Reading should have had a definite penalty ... to me it looks like Nastasic attempts to pull his arm our of the way , and the following collision involving Rekik was just that ... a collision !

West Ham scored an almost identical goal to Gareth Barrys a few weeks ago against Chelsea , and that stood , and i don't really see what else Barry could have done really ...... he was determined to reach the cross and the Reading player involved made absolutely no attempt to try to clear it in any way , even before Barry lunged forward and headed it in.

TO BE FAIR TO READING I DON'T THINK ANY OTHER SIDE WILL DEFEND AS WELL AS THEY DID AT THE ETIHAD TODAY , EVEN UNITED CONCEDED TWICE AT CITY ...... ASIDE FROM BARRYS GOAL THAT WAS A TOP CLASS DEFENSIVE PERFORMANCE FROM READING , THEY WORKED THIER SOCKS OFF AND WERE WELL ORGANISED , AND IT WAS ALMOST CERTAINLY THEIR BEST PERFORMANCE OF THE SEASON.

(and i've deliberately stressed that to highlight why it was so difficult for City )
