Man City vs Reading - Post Match Discussion

Hey, a win is a win, & 3 points in the bag, still within range of top spot. Great.

But despite all the stats; possession %, shots on goal, shots on target, corners, etc, that was not a great game to watch today. Reading were boring and predictable. City were too narrow and reluctant to apply pressure and shoot. The master tactician is still struggling, and its too much like watching SerieA. This was on paper the easiest of our holiday fixtures, and would have been the right day to try some bold experiments.
Today would have been a good day to rest David Silva with a busy schedule coming up, a good day to push Yaya further up-field to change the shape of the game, a good day to rest Kolo and give Joleon a game (has he really upset Roberto?).

But Hey, a win is a win (no matter how ugly), 3 points in the bag, & seasons greetings to all our readers.

Surprised by some of the reactions on here (even for Bluemoon).

We won.
We deserved to win (clearly).
We are driving them crazy with our fight 'til the end.
Different day and we win that five or six nil with the same level of performance.
Three points off top and they've not got an easy game tomorrow.

Happy Christmas.

only post people need to read ^

Some people on here criticize Gareth Barry regularly, because he is not a flashy player. But today he showed with his drive and enthusiasm and his goal that he is a class player.
IMHO the comments from Reading's McDermott are just sour grapes.

Can understand his frustration.

He is utterly wrong (perfectly good goal) and his team were shamefully negative, but that must have made his stomach turn at the end.

His job's on the line at the end of it all.

Barry had a pretty shit game but thank fuck for that. Looking back at it it was a bloody important win, couldn't have afforded to draw to the bottom of the table and 9 points behind United...

F**k the goal Barry had a shit game, are you a wum ffs.

Woops I meant *but thank fuck for that goal*, woops ;)

After that performance from his team I'm hoping they disappear through the trap-door alongside QPR.

Did they win today then?

Plus you still get a point for a draw, even against the likes of Reading
