These films always start off so great, nice and slow with a dark edge ... then all of a sudden a baddie appears and theres explosions, machines, gun fire and endless fights which bore the shit out of me

Isn't that what superhero/action films are made for?

Batman returns was perfect for me, very dark, great acting, no CGI/Graphix shit

You know, I think this maybe bullshit. Darker doesn't always means better. The last Spiderman was a stinker - the earlier 3 when you rewatch them were much better (not so much S3). Batman ok was good. But I don't think darker suits Superman or Spiderman - they are and always have been colourful superheroes.

Superman looks a right miserable bastard in this.

No one will ever play it better than Christopher Reeve and the score will never be as good as the films he was in.

Maybe I'm just lamenting the films of my childhood but I'm sure the current generation would enjoy a smiling "go get 'em" superhero for a change much more than these dreary cunts.

I'm not sure if you realise, but Bats and Spidey were always 'dark' in nature. After all, the parents and guardian of both characters were MURDERED!!

Try not to get sucked in by the pretty colours and the odd camp joke in the comics...

Yeah i agree with you to be honest,Batman's got dodgy knees,Bonds got the shakes and cant shoot straight.
I want a bit of escapism with these types of films.

Did you know that Bats has a special distrust of him?

The fact that pretty much nothing, bar the little things I spoke of, can overcome him puts Supes in the Number One Threat Level for the Bats (in his 'detective' guise), so he keeps a little sa'um-sa'um for Supes in case he goes on a 'God' trip.
