Dave 1st half dragged us back into the match. Stuart Pearce said before the game that City would be playing with their heads down after the loss to dipperpool and I thought eff off you know nowt fool, after Chelsea scored how right he was. Except for Dave, he got stuck in and chased lost causes.

Then in 2nd half the ineffectual and slow Rodri with his 5 yard passes was replaced by Gundogan, who, along with Foden sparked life into the midfield and snuffed out Jorginho and Kovacic who were both having an excellent game til Jorginho ran out of steam.
None of this could have been accomplished without the defensive pairing of Fernandinho and Stones, who was aided by a solid looking Cancelo, who is settling in nicely.

MOTM has to go to Fernandinho shading it from Johnny 5 as he was hampered by having to cope with having Mendy on the left

Agree about MoTM, but can't agree that Mendy was on the left hampering Stones, he was mostly alongside or just behind Sterling, hampering him.

Soz pal it didn’t read well, Fern hampered by having to cope with Mendy, you’re right though, Sterling was ineffective as his supply was cut off

Fernandinho was outstanding lets be honest. Mendy down that left continues to over hit crosses, why? Great to see Foden get some half decent game time along his with his Chelski playing England peers. All that said, we need to see Fernandinho in his natural position at DM he's so complete but yesterday he was immense. Oh btw KDB for Captain??

Stones good but gets anywhere near his best and then gets crocked and out for 4 to 6 weeks We then have a period of Otomendi-ish performances till he hits anykind of form it goes without saying how Laporte along side him will further improve him

I'd love to know why ? He's very good player, but he doesn't lead, Fernandhino "led" yesterday in almost everything he did.
I thought KDB was borderline awful on Saturday, and went missing. He’s not a captain.
