Dave was magnificent again, as in a different way was Fern. Both majestic, but both the wrong side of thirty sadly.

Just about the only thing I worry about looking forward is how we replace two thirds of the best midfield in Europe over the next couple of years......

Silva when you compare him to the so called legend that is Rooney (both 32) and how both performed yesterday Silva was outstanding.

If Silva and KDB arent the midfield 2 in the PFA team of the year its a travesty. The football writers award is clearly skewed by the dippers/rags cartel so City will never win that and you have to be in London to qualify for other awards. Think we should make our own spoof PFA player of the year awatd to honour Merlin. Either that or there should be an award for outstanding contribution over the last five years.

MERLIN without doubt. The dippers will have seen his performance and be shitting themselves.

I voted Ferny - he must have touched the ball 10,000 times and as already said " the glue that binds City together".
Has Merlin EVER been voted into the POTS team by the f*kc all pundits.? - just interested - best midfielder in the PL - for 5 seasons - imo.

Sane although I couldn't split him or David Silva. Fern was also outstanding (as he has been all season). The first half was a thing of rare beauty.

Really believe Merlin has eyes in the back of his head , he has a 360 degree vision and chooses the right pass 99.9% of the time , he could play in carpet slippers and the opposition wouldnt get near him

Spanish dave comfortably. His genius meant it looked as though we were playing with slippers on in an exhibition game. I claimed at the time of the Liverpool defeat the majority of what went wrong that day was down to not having Silva on the pitch, somebody who is never, ever marked, always available for the pass and never loses the ball. We will truly see the difference he makes to this superb side on Wednesday. I don't think the dippers will have anywhere near the same level of joy pressing us with merlin on the field.

There were five or six of them - Leroy, Dinho, Raheem, KdB, Gabriel - who, on another day, would have won it by a landslide, but yesterday one man stood out above even all of these great performances.

David 'Merlin' Silva.
