I really can't choose. Foden will get the plaudits, that goal was immense and when he was on the right he was world class. Proud he is a blue, that he still has to get better but is already world class. I feel seeing him and messi in the same team would be the pinnacle of pass and score football.

Gundogan though... To play like he did, create, dictated and scored, after bring hit by a shyster's tackle in the first minutes and taking a terrible penalty, took some courage. He's becoming both a focal point for creating chances, and our main danger in the box.

Then there is sterling. To me he looked short of confidence recently, and again today. And then something changes. He ran at defenders, took them on, and when he does that he scares them silly. It's what he did against us all those years ago that marked him out, and he ended up breaking his Anfield hoodoo by having all of the 3 or 4 players trying to mark him, on toast. To show that kind of character, again, to drag yourself out of it and rise to another's level, not everyone can do that.

Rodri excellent, like moving your chess piece to a sector of the pitch and he automatically takes control of the ball, at times like watching a bunch of kids try to get the ball off an adult. Stones gave no change and stride around their patch like he owned it. Dias, ok a lesson on learning Salah will throw himself to the ground if he feels a flea fart hit him, otherwise a true inspiration. Zinchenko too, was nervous about starting a left footer against Salah but he was kept ineffective for most of the game, and having a left back gave us balance.

Or Eddie.. plucked crosses out of the air, clearly brazil's number 1 now. If he'd saved the penalty he'd be grabbing the deserved headlines I bet.

Not even mentioned Bernie. Constant willing runner, great energy, disciplined defensively and made sure his most effective work was in their half. The chip for sterling was hugely underappreciated, what an assist!

Cone back to me in a few hours.. I need more time to think on this one!

Foden 10/10
Silva 9.99/10
Sterling 9.98/10
Gundogan 9.96/10
Rodri 9.95/10
Stones 9.94/10
Zin 9.93/10
Rest 9/10

This seems to get more difficult each game, long may it continue! Foden for me, the best of a brilliant bunch.

Surprised Sterling didn't get more praise. I also thought Dias marshalled our defence brilliantly too.

Due to work I didn't concentrate fully on the game yet at 1-0 I was going to nominate Ruben Dias. Allowing for his so-called "mistake" - Salah exaggerated the fall - he's the steel that wins and titles are built upon and so he's my Man of the Match.
In the top 4: Foden, Gundog, Sterling, Dias

Phil easily but rodri was class today , tidy as you like
Amazing that lots of people didn’t think he should start. He has been excellent this season, quietly going about his business of shielding the defence and setting up play for the more attack minded players

Great team performance but Zinchenko had an outstanding game. From being a peripheral player he has earned his place with performances like this, out doing Delph as LB.

Others have better claims for MotM but Zinchenko deserves recognition. He is young and improving.
I came in to say the exact same thing! Yes, you could easily give it to Foden, Gundo, Bernie or Sterling but that was such a solid, excellent performance from the full back all afternoon.

Rodri was outstanding yesterday, he was everywhere and broke up so much of their play, the number of headers won also into our box.
He comes in for a lot of stick but yesterday he did it in a big game, and he wasn't noticed so that's a good sign that hes done his job well

everyone played a part, but think Bernado from previous season put a shift in a half. The way he carried the ball, made smart passes, got out of sticky situation when surrounded by 2 or more liverpool players. Hes something. For me Bernado all the way. Did the dirty work.

Hopefully this will see Mendy never start but i doubt it.
