"man on"

Having read the book about Pep, don't expect him to leave it to players to think about anything.
Our lack of movement on any set piece has to be the worse in the league. It really is terrible considering we're meant to be one of the best teams in Europe.

He is a definite upgrade on what we have right now id agree but that's hardly news is it lol?

I also dont think for one second our manager or any other for that matter tells a player to give it away cheaply or to throw it to one of theirs or to take a shit corner.

I do expect players at this level to be able to play football, do the basics and have a football brain.

Having said that, aren't we one of the highest scorers from set plays. Fuck knows how.

Yes but the best manager in the world doesn't leave it to chance. That's the point. A better manager wouldn't let the same basic errors be repeated week after week.

(See bony every week for proof Pellegrini isn't that bothered about individual performances)

Would you not expect a top manager to at least try and mix it up a bit? We don't move at all on throw ins. We take the same floaty corner pretty much everytime. If the manager wasn't happy with it you'd expect us to come up with something a little different every now and again wouldn't you?

Because we get more than anybody else would be my guess. I imagine Navas on his own must be responsible for us getting at least 5 a game when he starts.

We have scored quite a few off our shit corners and what different type of throw in would you like to see?

He isnt , Do you really believe its the managers job for him to instruct to players that when an ooponent is bearind down on one of ours, he must shout man on? Do me a favour
I believe it's the managers job to ensure that his players don't repeat the same mistakes week after week yes. But I've noticed you being very defensive of Pellegrini so I'd image you don't believe that's his job. A job he gets paid 35 times more per year that the Prime Minister to do.

Our lack of movement in open play is just as bad.

Good point. I've never known a player win so many corners by hitting his nearest defender with such regularity.

One where we have a player run to the ball, then spin whilst another couple of options come into play meaning the opposition have to chase us around and we make their job harder. Not take a minute for everyone to get in position then a lethargic throw down the line which gives us a 50/50 chance of retaining possession at best.
The corner situation is simply us getting that many it'd be mad if we weren't near the top of the scoring charts. My guess, without having the stats at hand would be over the last 3 years we've had more than any other team.

Is it his job to instruct the players to shout man on? yes or no. My support to Manuel, if you could be bothered to read my posts, has been purely against the bile he gets thrown at him by many on here. You will also see I have been acredditing him with blame also, so dont give me the line of I mustnt think its his job to such a basic schoolboy task of shoutingbt shouting to your team mates. Anyway, I will be intrigued to your answer to my question, as you obviously think it is.

I agree we do seem to have a game management issue at times but to suggest that International players with many years experience in the game dont do it right because of Pellegrini is frankly ridiculous and sounds like an excuse for yet another thread bashing the manager.

Sometimes, its not too much to expect the players to switch on and use their brains.
nothing to do with manager imo. to me its just basic game management that is instilled in us from our very first kick as kids.

I've said just that.

Footballers at this level should know exactly what to do when it comes to game management.

If they dont they are in the wrong job.

It's definitely the players responsibility to let their team mates know where they are and if they have time on the ball or not.

I've already answered. A top manager doesn't let the same school boys errors to be repeated game after game. Whatever they may be.

No, the talking is down to the players. The in game management should be what's worked on every day leading up to a match. Ours is shockingly bad and the buck stops at the coaches and managers who have told the players how they want them to perform.
