Couple of weeks ago I would not have agreed. He looks good, I know he is not the fern of old but he is still offers more than rodders. Hopefully pep agrees.

Prepare to be surprised then, Pep never goes for the most obvious, he does not think like the rest of us, be sure he will come up with a back three, no striker, or some kind novel formation.
 
No one is picking Torres and probably neither will Pep but i think he'd give the rags something new to think about.
 
Fernandinho was arguably MOtM last night but he most probably won't start the derby. And at 35 he is still better than Gundowon'tbegone or Rodri Trotter. His legs may be going but his experience, link up play and foresight of snuffing out danger are badly needed. I think he is still our most important player, especially in big games. He knows when to 'take one for the team', a professional foul that irks ratboy so much. Didn't bother him when Scholes was deliberately hacking players down because his legs had gone though, Zabaleta's scything hack down!(I digress)

Not playing Ferno in the derby on Saturday could end up being ' Only Fools And Arses'! I'm not looking forward to our languid build up play with two doddering DM's at the helm.

We need players up for the challenge or we could get turned over. Fernandinho knows what derbies are about and we need him to start. Playing 2 snail paced DMs is playing into United's hands, especially when they spring an attack on our high line defence, and they will. Fernandinho shields the back 4 so well and his link up play, well that's why he has been our most important player since being at the club. I simply cannot understand how he has been reduced to a bit part player when he is still better than what we have available in Rodri and Gundogan : /

I'd pick him instead of Sterling.
Raz now seems to just have 5 minute spells in matches.
I find myself screaming at him to go past a player, but invariably he passes it backwards or sidewards for someone else to take responsibility.
Need much more from him in big crucial games
 
Just hope Pep doesn't treat it like a practice match as per usual. He still doesn't understand the rivalry. Mancini got it straight away. Baffling really and a bit narcissistic.

He still had his immaculate control and a few nice moments but it was a big step down on his last 2 or 3 performances.

I wouldn’t put it past Pep to bench him after last night.

Don't envy Pep trying to pick the team, so many players worthy of a start based on recent form.

I thought Laporte had a different vibe about him - like he had a point to prove and looked sharp again. I wouldn’t think he’ll accept playing second fiddle without putting up a fight.

You can also factor into that little medley the rag players who secretly think the job is too big for him, despise his training techniques and want to see him get his marching orders.

I'm sure they'll be one or two of their players not willing (or able) to put a full shift in on Saturday.

Hopefully.
But if the rag players watch the build up on sky over the next couple of days, they'll end up believing they are favourites to win the game, and that the whole country is routing for them, and they need to win for Fergie, Matt Busby, Paddy fuckin Roach and that "billions of ushited fan from around the globe will be tuning in" (in my best Jim Shite impersonation) etc etc etc.
The mighty wheels of Sly's propaganda machine will be turning full tilt

Cancelo over Walker. Offers ten times more in attack and isn’t that much slower either.

Rather Torres starts LW as he would be pretty much an unknown factor as opposed to Sterling who never shows up against the rags but Raz will probably start.

This is a must win. It’s time to put together a nice run of wins. Hopefully 18 again!
