How many of these "big games" has he played in? 2 ?. He has pace and an eye for goal.

The only 2 we’ve played. Liverpool and Spurs. Didn’t even get involved in the general play.

I’m not having a go about that by the way. He’s young and will grow into the side over the next year like Sane did. Let’s not pretend he’s desperately needed in the team over more proven players though.

No ,but he has less convictions then some.

Pep’s plan for this one will be don’t lose so i fully expect a similar performance as against Liverpool, Spurs & Lyon. Foden may as well get selected for the EDS this weekend as he wont get a single minute in the derby it will be a 90 for Gundogan & Rodri with Jesus playing out wide dropping deep & Kev will be up top on his own with nobody to look for.

In other words he has learned nothing from previous encounters.

Until we are ruthless in front of goal, we will continue to stutter through this season. Our defence is looking a little more compact. We just need Eddy to stop having brain farts and talk to the defenders.
I think OGS will take a lead from Maureen and employ the kick and chase game, knowing we will be trying to go balls out to win and push forward.
If Pep hasn’t learned from previous games v OGS he needs a slap. They’re only as good as we allow them to be!!!
We all know that they will be given every advantage and VAR will be looking at us in minute detail, so we MUST win this.

Even though they were chinned, I thought Stretford looked good against PSG and there were enough warning-signs for a nightmare in the derby. I'm not in any way religious, but I'm praying that Pep doesn't want to be shown his arse again by the Norwegian genius.

Ederson

Walker
Dias
Stones
Laporte

Rodri
Bernardo
De Bruyne

Sterling
Mahrez
G.Jesus

What I think Pep will go with:

Ederson

Walker
Dias
Laporte
Mendy

Rodri
Gundogan
De Bruyne

Sterling
Bernardo
G.Jesus

Just batter the twats please!

Much as it pains me to say it, this is the most competent the Rags have looked since the piss can fucked off - remarkably enough, as their manager is a fucking idiot.

Their defence is shit and can be got at easily, as their last few games have shown - but they are exceptionally dangerous on the break, and have some serious pace about them.

They’re exactly the kind of team we struggle against, so we need to take our chances early and finish the cunts off before they know what’s hit em. Play our sluggish possession game, and they’ll easily pick us off on the counter.

They're just the same as Spurs, dangerous on the counter but not much else. Take our chances and we win this. No going in at h/t 2 or 3 up and resting on that, because United's remarkable powers from their half time cuppas (and help from Mr. Var) has seen them turn around losing positions quite a lot this season. I don't care if it's a 1-0 victory, just don't do anything stoopid to give them chances.

We play the same system irrespective of who gets picked so will always be vulnerable to counter attacking teams if we are not at our best. I don't think it matters that much who he chooses in the positions that are competitive. Any team we choose is good enough to beat them or lose if we don't concentrate. I expect:

Eddie
Walker
Dias
Stones
Mendy
Rodri
Gundog
DeBruyne
Sterling
Jesus
Mahrez

If he plays Laporte for Stones, Cancelo for Mendy, Fern for Rodri, Bernie for Gundo, Phil for Raheem, Torres for Mahrez, I don't think we are weakened or improved. Mendy gives us more on the left from an attacking perspective, I would say he and Cancelo are as good/bad as each other defensively. Bernie gives us more energy but less control than Gundog. Fern/Rodri is pretty close and in a game like this Fern more likely to get sent off. Laporte hasn't been at his best and hasnt played for a while so Stones is at least as good a pick if not better.

I wont be panicking whatever team he puts out.

This scared me :( They are a supped up Wolves. They have a stat about how they win more when they have less possession. And how they are better on the road. Probably from having less possession band countering the home team.

We really need to play at our best. I would want Walker for this one. Perhaps Ake on the left

Yes, spot on. They may not be sophisticated but they have a way of playing now and we should be aware of their improvement. Manager still not a genius.
