100% this
Pep needs to adapt in these type of games. Drop off a couple of yards so our attackers have space to play in.
Also keep doing what we do but keep the ball better in the final third (we’ve been poor at that over the last year), press better up high when we do lose it (we’ve lost that in the last year), make sure that if teams do break our press that we work hard to get back behind the ball quickly (this seems to have disappeared from our game), and defend well (this was a problem in the past, and was recently at Spurs, but we have been better this season at this).

The Pep way is to press and defend high up the field we do that and keep our energy levels high they’ll be lucky to get 1/2 chances.
Who's to say the rags won't do that to us,
What the fuck do we do then?

I have no idea, however, which City or which United are going to turn up today. Two teams you don’t know what you’re going to get from.

Will we have loads of the ball and create very little? Create loads but miss a load of sitters? Defend like idiots? Play them off the park and take our chances? Defend like trojans?

We’re capable of any of these things.

Will they defend like idiots like they can and gift us chances? Have their game of the season? Will they hardly have a sniff? Take their one chance and win? Break on us well and punish us?

Who knows?

The team id like to see start:

ederson
Walker stones días cancelo
Kdb Rodri Foden
Mahrez Jesus sterling

We need early goals.
We create but struggle to score, I'd love to see Kun 1st half.
He's our best goal scorer, whack Jesus on at HT.
He can drop back into midfield and work harder once we're in front.

At least we have been reasonably consistent , five clean sheets and one defeat in fifteen games , all be it too many draws , unfortunately we have also been consistent in missing guilt edged opportunities and our final ball / crossing has been at times woeful. The amount of times we get into good crossing positions and we just aimlessly hit it into the opposition penalty area , for their defenders to invariably clear at the near post.
We need to be more deadly in the final third , think about the pass and players make space to receive the ball , we cannot keep on banking on KDB to pull us out of the shit with a wonder pass , other players have to contribute. Our defence is looking solid but we need to be more clinical up front , twenty shots a game and a couple of goals is not going to win us trophies. Cant wait to see a fully fit Sergio playing again , i think our goal ratio to shots will improve 100%

We know we are the better team, but we also know that Utd can set up to exploit the weaknesses/flaws int he system.

counter attacking with pace into the channels and over the top...plus set pieces - if Pep asks the fullbacks NOT to push on it would help...esp walker as he has the pace to recover.......

Jesus, Sterling and whoever need to be more clinical
Hpoefully a rested KDb will be firing on all cylinders

Indeed. It is no masterclass to simply sit back and wait for a break, it is the simplest of games. We need aggressive pressing on their defenders so that they cannot release the dangerous pass, instead handing it right back to us. That's why I would like to see Jesus and Phil today.

I can only dream of being as confident as a few on here for a win, lol. Really don't know what to expect. We will have to be clinical though, because unfortunately these twats are at times. Also think their CL exit in the week will not hamper them either. Just win City.

We’re do much better than they are as a team but they have some good individuals capable of open us up. The way they play unfortunately has been our kryptonite over the last few seasons so it will be a huge test for our defence.

Stones has been excellent when he’s played this season but he has had a habit of making mistakes in big games so we’ll see if he can stand up in this one.

We need more than anything to be clinical and I hope Ederson has been watching Fernandes’ penalties so he’s prepared for the inevitable penalty they’ll get tonight.
