Man Up The Lot Of You

Yes he's scored the most of our goals, but as a lone front man that's to be expected. In the game against bolton he fluffed his lines on numerous occasions, as our players were putting them on a plate for him time after time. He's one hell of a player and it will need serious quality to replace him, but it's not like that quality is out of reach is it?

I am convinced that we can actually be a better team without him. There are few players that are as good as Carlos at what he does, but do not underestimate how much having a bigger front man who can bag with his head would add to our attacking play. It'd bring a whole new dimension that isn't currently there. Silva and Kolarov and co would actually be able to whip crosses in and not just have a little midget to aim for. Other players will bring different qualities to the team which could actually improve the team on the whole

To me this isn't half as bad as when SWP wanted to go. We were so reliant on him back then that it was a huge blow for us, but we proved yesterday we can do just as well without him, and that was with a sulky, unreliable 20 year old boy up front.

If he wants to go, let him go. We'll get a good fee and I'm sick of reading about how he wants to retire every other week. If he wants out, sell him, replace him with quality and we'll continue to move forward

bang on the fucking money.

Ade was scoring goals at a bigger clip than Tevez last season. When Tevez came back from his injury IMO he squeezed out Ade by being selfish.

Yes we could have score more goals in the last few matches if Tevez was less selfish & assist in providing goal scoring opportunities to Mario.

Called it, ages ago, several times.

Once you add everything up, there's just something about Tevez that doesn't feel right to me. I don't see him as a player who will die for the shirt off the field, as well as on. I think Tevez is doing what is best for Tevez rather than City, just as Bellamy did what was best for him and got thrown out because of it.

Tevez's captaincy and lack of discipline highlight huge contradictions in Mancini's management style when he says how Bellamy leaving was discipline related. I also feel that he is a bit of a whinger. He told United he wanted to leave because he wasn't playing football. How he's playing football, he wants to retire.

Fully agree on Tevez. He's played a blinder the last few weeks. My problem with him is not his talent levels, but his attitude towards the club.

Ok, I'll counter with his greediness in the Sunderland and Blackburn games this season and the numerous times last season where he shot instead of passing to the far better placed Ade. People were often talking of this last season, but put it down to him wanting the golden boot, which somehow protected him from the greediness criticism. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad we have a striker that shoots often, but not glad that we have a striker who seemingly would rather score himself than gift the team a goal.

And your memory is at fault. Bridge crossed the ball to Jo (with his back to goal), who half controlled it in a knock back to Silva, Tevez wasn't involved.

In addition to this, I'm thinking of his seemingly regular comments on his tiredness and plans of early retirement, and his public complaining at the training schedules last season.

To me, Tevez seems to be out for himself. Perhaps mental strength was the wrong word to use here, maybe mental attitude would have been better. I have absolutely no surprise that he plays well when he has something to prove like he did at West Ham and against United.

When your undroppable player who you have built your team around though is becoming greedy and talking about early retirement though, it then becomes a problem.

When was the last time who these players (who teams are built around) such as Messi, Rooney, Drogba, etc last said this type of stuff? We give Tevez 100% commitment, I don't think it's too much to ask for the same in return.

Spot on !

He's a great player, scores goals and can help drive the team, in fact similar to how Bellamy played at times last year,

BUT

we look more like a team without him, De Jong, Kompany and Silva are better team players and we can replace Tevez in time. Hopefully Balotelli will wise up, but if he doesn't then he could be moved on as well in the future.

The good thing is the club are aware of what's going on and the window is about to open. We have five first team strikers at the club and all may need replacing in the next 12 months. Torres, Dzeko, Carroll, Aguero, Benzema to name a few, are all possible targets and just two of these will be enough in January to start with.

This has been on the cards for sure. I have been arguing about these warning signs on here for months and very few people in all honesty have faced the truth.

I argue about how a very large amount of football fans live in a fickle self deceived fantasy world. One day the scapegoat is Ireland, the next Bellamy and throughout all of those drama's, Tevez was uttering things in the press, which were merely brushed under the carpet by the 'name on the back of the shirt' loving pie arses on here. I suspect a lot of these fans are kids, who have supported City for a few years at best.

The same thing is happening again today. Now it's Kia's fault. Why? Because it has to be? The club have even made reference to it? Again, throughout this, there are still some, holding on to that constructed 'Saint Carlos' mentality.

The truth is likely to contain some form of agent influence, player unrest, issue with Mancini (well documented), and perhaps tapping up by Madrid.

However, throughout all of this, the truth remains, that Tevez is wise enough to know the politics of this. He's a top player, he isn't daft. He understands the implications. He has played THE biggest part in the acceleration of this story publically over the past year.
Nice. A pop at the fans and then a load of illogical nonsense.

Carlos is a top player therefore he is not stupid? Right o. I forgot sportsmen are all academically gifted, wait... Oh.

We can replace him, but at the same time he's currently one of the most Prolific strikers in the game right now. I don't think we'll be needing to replace him in the immediate future anyway, we've called Kias bluff.

I didnt say because he is a top player therefore he isnt stupid. The top player part was to acknowledge he has been around the workings of high pressured environments and big club politics. He is a street wise footballer. He doesn't need a degree in Manchester City cultural studies.

It is a pop at fans who are fucking two faced. Slag off other players for not appearing 'perfect' or challenge the very self deceived fabric upon which their support is constructed. Yet Tevez has received virtually fuck all criticism for his outspoken behaviour over the past year? Why? Because it's Tevez. And not Ireland or Bellamy. Personally, I can see straight through it. People's little 'shitting their pants' mentality. The guy on SEVERAL ocassions has spouted off about being unhappy, criticised Mancini's training methods, and has indicated he is unhappy.

It takes a transfer request for the fickle self deceived morons to wake up. And even today, there are some blaming everyone else other than Tevez.

were singing off the same hymm sheet mate, I've been saying this all day. if he wants to go let him go, the few fans trying to shift the blame on to the agents is quite pathetic.

Some great posts on this thread. Could have saved myself a couple of hours wading through the 80 pager.

i feel the board has been positive generally, more so as time goes by.In fact finding so many shared my thoughts on CT is a surprise as generally he is regarded as 'untouchable'. Well ,we of all clubs can stand a bit of turbulence, the project is still on track,January round the corner, bring it on

IF he has handed a transfer request in,its simple...
let him go..
we will and have scored goals without him..tevez is not bigger than city..
he gets paid well, were joint top of the premier league, and the champions league looks good for next season...if this is not good enough for carlos, nothing will be....
