Man up

I seem to remember reading a lot on here that the rags were there for the taking, finished, etc. Go to the swamp with an attacking setup and the points are in the bag...

For the record, here is what I make the "worst case scenario" - every single result going against us. Results could be tweaked just a tiny bit to make it harder, but if we can get to 54 points we are pretty much mathematically safe.

The teams with only 37 played are where the results literally do not matter to the final standings, so I left them unplayed to represent what could happen.

I wonder when the last " we can still win the league" thread will be started. Not a chance in hell and the bigger question is still can we get into the top 4.

Even that isn't going to be easy and we will still probably need plenty of help from either Chelsea or Spurs to do it.More than likely the key games, logically , are against those 2 teams.I still think we need 70 points which isn't easy with games still to play away at Chelsea,Everton and LPool as well as Spurs at home.WE need a minimum of 2 points from thsoe games and that's assuming we win all the other 5 which isnt a gimmee.

Yes I know we can win any game we play but I don't wear totally blue tinted glasses and can see the form we are currently in especially away from home.We must improve our form end of story to get a top 4 slot.

I guess when its not mathematically possible. I dont expect us to win the league, I do expect us to play for every point and see where it takes us though. Theres a difference between being delusional and setting out our stall to establish that elusive 'winning mentality'. The former is where you say 'were going to win the league' the latter is where you say 'we should play to win'.

My point was that we can at the very least establish ourselves as real contenders for seasons to come. The other clubs in the race seem fallible and we should capitalize on that.

So I am not the only one still worried about relegation then.

Correct. The opening post was delusional in the idea we can still win the league( mathematically possible , give me a break.)
Correct ,of course we should go out to win every game and get as many points as possible.Should it ever be any different.
Correct we should be establishing our selves as genuine title contenders for every year from now.Not news.

The league is there for whoever wants to take it imo....Manure have been found out and the arse are hardly setting it alight...going all out might just see us in the drivers seat if Chelski slip up...thoughts?

Based on our most recent performances, we won't win the league.

I'll have you know it took a long time to make all the results work out like that ;)

On the bright side...one point and we're safe.

We could win every game 10-0 playing rush goalies and with half the team supping cocktails on deck chairs and I'd still celebrate every season at the point when we no longer have to worry about relegation ;) I was pretty relieved at the 40 point mark too.
