Still 4K available on the planner - come on blues its a fucking derby with a place at Wembley on the line.
We used to dream of these opportunities to beat these twats and a chance to win some silverware. I fear some of our fanbase has become a little bit too apathetic, affordability not withstanding.

I would be very tempted to keep the formation the same as the first leg, in the league they could have been well in front in the first 30 minutes and see no reason for us to revert back to the same line up.
I agree to a point. They had the threat of Rushforward's pace in the league match which Pep was concerned about in the first leg, but that's not an issue now. They've not got much up top without him (IMO). Don't think they've got much they can hurt us with TBH.

But I loved the fluidity of the team in the first leg, so many players interchanging positions and responsibilities (Fern/Rodri + the front three with no 9)

Maybe revert to 4-3-3 and play to our strengths now they've not got much to counter with, but who knows.

Thinking about it, this is potentially a great test for how we deal with the latter stages of the champs league. If they get the first goal they’re right back in it and the pressure mounts. We don’t need to go into this game to win, it only requires us to keep it tight, keep possession, bide our time and wear them down. it’s going to require a different mentality to our usual “we’ll just impose ourselves on you because we’re better” approach. if we’re going to go far in the champions league we’ll need performances like that against far better opponents, so united will prove a useful exercise in game management

Yep.
Will be interesting how far Pep will go on that road.

In terms of success - just qualifying for the final -
we should go for a clean sheet full stop.

Surely by possession/domination,
closing the mid,
not allowing a single counter,
not conceding many standards.

But Pep also wants to entertain the stands and himself. Bottom line should be a good mix :)

#VAR hasn't been used in the #CarabaoCup this season apart from the Semi Finals 1st Legs despite having been used throughout the competition last year. There's no VAR for the 2nd legs this week.
Why only have VAR for 2 games in the whole tournament?

If true, it's Marriner and no VAR in 2nd leg semis:

Bravo

Fernandinho Rodri Laporte

Walker De Bruyne Bernardo Mendy

Mahrez Aguero Jesus

3 0 City

Don't want to see Raz within a million miles of this game. So out of form it's like playing with 10 at the moment; Mahrez, Kun, Jesus all in form - not even a hard decision, team picks itself.

I agree but I'd play Garcia in place of Rodri at CB.

Rodri in place of Bernado. We can always bring Bernado and Sterling on, keep it tight 1st half.

I cant see no VAR anywhere, would be more than surprising.

Why only have VAR for the first leg of a two-legged semi final ? Doesn’t make sense ! When was the decision taken ?

I think that smell in the air is yet another conspiracy burning !
