This may not be popular but I think Eddy Howe has done a great job at Newcastle. Only been there what 5 months ?
If you go back to when Pellegrini should have won it, won the Premier League and League Cup in his first season but ridiculously, Tony Pulis won it, then on that score there’s no reason why Eddy Howe shouldn’t have been named Manager of the Year.

Watch him on the touchline, all he does is gurn at his players, berate the 4th official, and whoop and tub thump to the crowd.

- His subs are all like-for-like players in the same positions.
- He never strays from 4-3-3.
- Kick and rush from the quarter-backs.
- No change in tactical formations during mid-play.
- Hardly any instructions given to his individual players during the game.
- He criticised Southgate for playing Tront in midfield for England, then took the plaudits a few months later when Tront shuffled inside for a couple of games.
- A voyeur in the pre-match warm ups, whilst the last minute coaching is done by others.
- Always sniping at other coach's tactics or fans if they give his team a difficult time.

The PL coach of the year.

That's a great summation

I'm sure Pep isn't fussed.

What I find funny about this current win is the fact that the majority have ditched the narrative about how hard it is to defend a premiership. Let alone with a team as determined as Liverpool chasing.

I think that alone is worthy of Pep being awarded at least one of them.

What a load of bollox

pep breaks records constantly & won the league how does 2nd place win manager of the year lol

he’s a very good manager but pep has done better this season end of.

Klopp's brilliant and Liverpool have had a great season.

(washes mouth out)

But, if its based just on the Premier League he shouldn't win it. At the start of the season if anybody suggested Liverpool would finish 2nd everyone pretty much would have said that's okay for them. They'd hope for 1st, but 3rd would really be a failure. 2nd is okay.

Similar for us, but 2nd would be seen as a failure. 1st, yeah that's decent, but a bit expected these days.

There are managers that did better than expected this season. You could say Frank, Howe, Moyes, Vieira all over achieved and could deserve it. Maybe Conte too, at a push.

Or you give it the winner.

But definitely not the guy who everyone expected to finish 1st or 2nd and ended up with 2nd. Unless you factor in other competitions, which you shouldn't.
