I've found people from Salford are from Salford and never say Manchester!

I saw a t-shirt once with a slogan saying:

Returned to The North
Died in The North"

Quite fitting. Most locals I know have spent some time away before retuning but never lose what they had. I'm on 2/4 already so it's own downhill from now with death to look forwards to.
