Manchester Airport police assault trial | Man found guilty of assaulting two female police officers

It seems that one of the jury is off their holidays tomorrow and has been discharged. The trial was always scheduled to last at least three weeks, so it seems ridiculous that they allowed that person on the jury to start with. Presuming that they told them, which they would have been asked.

Not sure if that means they are down to 11, or if for these long trials they have a couple of spares listening to all the evidence incase anyone drops out?

Weren’t the police armed with Taser guns?
Am I correct in thinking that airport police are either armed with Taser or ‘ordinary’ guns?
Two were proper armed but not all carry tasers, a bit like the guy with the sword who killed the young lad and attacked police had they had tasers he would’ve been down in minutes. For me all should be armed with tasers now.

Thats crazy and just stupid.
Had one on the jury I was on that was a prison visitor and seemingly thought everyone caught breaking the law should be given another chance.

We sent them down 11-1 in the end but that was largely due to it being a Friday and one or two didn’t want to come back for a second week. I felt a bit sorry for the accused as although I was convinced they were guilty I don’t think all the jurors were giving it their full attention and we were probably split 8-4 and should have gone back to the court with that.

I think at least one of them had a taser but imo it’s not a proper deterrent…..I think all airport police should carry firearms. I’m pretty sure there would have been no bother if the officers in question all had handguns ..

Lawyers must be stringing this out to get an extra days pay or jurors don’t want to go back to work….. alledgedly

What is the majority ruling in this case?
Has it got to be 10-1 or better or will a 6-5 do?

How the fuck can anyone vote not guilty in this instance which is the inference given the judge has said he will accept a 10-1 verdict. The mind boggles!
I’m going to trust the process on this.
