Manchester Airport police assault trial | Man found guilty of assaulting two female police officers

Assuming the verdict expected today? Can’t see the jury needing too much time to deliberate on a verdict given the video evidence presented?
I suppose it depends on what time the jury were sent out to deliberate the verdict - assuming they have been sent out today that is. Also, I think even in relatively open and shut cases, you're probably looking at a few hours before they return a verdict.

Given what the wider public have seen, I can't see these two getting off but you never know I suppose. I must admit that I'm surprised they've released additional footage during the trial itself that wasn't already out there in the public domain.

I'm just waiting for the civil rights riots after the verdict by the entitled morons and their liberal enablers.

You never know mate. If it was a crime against the public in that airport then yes, but so many people just have an inbuilt dislike of police that you cant tell. Some deeply ingrained thoughts may play out in deliberations, and I personally wouldnt be surprised, though obviously disappointed, if that jury ends up unable to reach a decision. Remember now, there was foaming at the mouth grade outrage when that clip of the copper kicking and stamping was first spread out on social media without any wider context before facts were known, including real non informed hostility on this very forum. Those things stick in the minds of people, particularly if they dont care much for police
freind did jury service last a couple of years ago. Drug dealer kidnapper bang to rights. One juror flat out said she'll go not guilty because she 'hates the cops'. Second woman going not guilty 'cos she fancied the accused.

To be honest, I don't think there's much sympathy in any circles for them now that most of the footage is out there mate. The original video that surfaced last year of the stamp was clearly very selective and painted a totally inaccurate picture of the whole incident. There's quite a few countries around the world where they'd have been shot for pulling that shit.

This shows up flaws in the system where the jury make the decision. Trouble is, I don't think there's a viable alternative. I wouldn't want a single judge deciding because who's to say he/she won't be biased as well? I suppose if you leave it to a group of 12 rather than a single person, there's a better chance of arriving at the correct verdict.

I would not believe that. Both if reported to the judge would receive a custodial 6 months as the trial would have to be re tried.

Some on here are secretly wanting them to get off, you can almost smell the pheromones coming off them.

But you're probably right mate.

While a lot on here "went in early" after the initial video surfaced, I think opinions changed drastically once it became clear what had happened. Some still think it was wrong for the stamp to have happened but also recognise that they were under a lot of provocation. Personally, the thing that struck me was how quickly everything happened - it was a ridiculously fast moving situation, and they were having to make split second decisions. For me, he gets huge mitigation for that and it's right that he shouldn't face any charges. Fuck around and get found out, especially if you're fucking around with armed officers in an airport!

Jury been sent out to consider verdict around 45 minutes ago. Not sure how long it takes for 12 people to all agree on a guilty verdict.

I've just checked on the CPS website, and you are correct in that they have only been charged with assaulting the police officers. I still think that the younger brother will get a minimum of 5 years inside.
We should find out soon enough.

The CPS website doesn’t say that, they’ve been charged for all of the assaults.

Yes pal,you are correct.
I must have missed that the younger brother has also been charged with common assault against a member of the public. So I apologize for making that mistake and thank you for correcting my mistake.
Hopefully, that's another charge that this twat gets more time at His Majesty's Pleasure.
