i reckon i'm going to call it a day on this thread. i've told people for years that earle was born in moss side and was a city fan.
I think he might have been a City fan. That certainly rings a bell. You do know that black people aren't all born in Moss Side, don't you ? ;-)

Don't be ridiculous. They're all born in Africa.

Born and raised in Stoke but a City fan none the less. The official City mag did an interview with him a few years ago.

-- Sat Jun 23, 2012 10:14 pm --

Quick story regarding Paul Warhurst if I may? I was one of a crew of lads who fitted the seats in the Kop End at Sheffield Wednesday back in the early 1990's. Anyway it's when they had that decent team Hurst, Waddle, Woods etc. And Trevor Francis was putting a few of the players through the paces on the pitch. At the end of it Mr Warhurst spotted the City hat I was wearing and jogged over for a chat for 5 minutes or so. He's a big Blue without a doubt and seemed a really nice lad.

Aaron Wilbraham just released by Norwich and gone to Crystal Palace is local and a city fan as well.

Alan McLoughlin, was on United's books but never made an appearance for them, he was Southamptons record signing at one point back in the 90's

1970's player Dave Bradford ex Blackburn and Sheffield United once described by his manager Ken Furphy as potentially the first million pound footballer is from Droylsden/Audenshaw, he went to Littlemoss school.
Played in America for a number of years.

Steve Wigley ex Forest is an Ashton lad,he's even got a European Cup winners medal iirc.
Although he was part of Pearce's back room staff.

john sheridan turned city down as a kid becouse we wouldnt sign his brother darren, they both went to leeds with darren going on to play for barnsley in the pl john played for leeds and sheffeild wed in the pl

you'd better tell him to alter his facebook page then.
