Why - currently the club hold every major honour that they are able to compete for in English football. To compete in the charity shield you have to have won one of the top honours in the game the season before, making it one of the hardest things to achieve. To hold 4 shows how good this team is and makes it harder for anyone to equal the achievement. Let’s be proud of holding all 4Any chance of taking quadruple out of the title?
It's just incredible to think the team has actually accomplished what it has - especially coming from behind to hold off Liverpool, who are grandly regarded by all the media.
Winning a cup final 6- 0...... Wow!!!
Looking at next season, I'm sure Pep will want at least the same, but, we have to, now, get the chumps league. I hate to say it but it's true. I'd love to retain the Premier League as well, but, winning the Chumps league and retaining any of our trophies will be a phenomenal achievement.
In the meantime, in any event - especially with a fit KDB on the pitch - we are, without a doubt imho, undeniably, the best team in the land and all the world.
The problem with the CL is that it is a cup and you never know what could happen and you can go out just by away goals ...
The target should remain the same, winning at least one trophy every year and go as far as possible in CL.
The win can happen when you aren’t expecting it.
I started following Manchester City when Keegan was manager. I love the sport, I love Manchester -- I feel it's almost my second home -- and I loved the fact that this was a club for fans -- the wittiest, most sardonic, most thoughtful fans. City weren't especially good. They certainly weren't a brand. In fact, they were the runt of the Prem litter, with a behemoth next door. How they played didn't really matter to me -- as long as they stayed up so I could watch them on TV early in the am when the rest of my young family was asleep. OK -- and maybe win a derby, or at least not get battered.
City were a club I fell in love with because . . . because I just did. I first came over in 06 to see a match and have pretty much every year since.
Never in a zillion years did I ever expect City would achieve what they have. I still sometimes can't believe it. Whether City won the lottery or not, I know I did as a fan because I've gotten to witness such remarkable, beautiful, exciting football.
But really, to me, this will always be a club about Manchester. The canals, the music that is my life's soundtrack, the bars, the railways, the neighborhoods -- and the people. That's really what I'm happiest about, it really is. Foreign ownership, new foreign fans -- it doesn't matter. This is your city's club.
A few of you I've gotten to know on my trips out, and it's been my great privilege to have a chance to do so. You have grown up with this club as wee ones, and as lifelong fans who have witnessed all the highs and lows and dedicated your time to this club, this has to be a crowning glory, a wonder -- something as special as you could imagine.
So live it up, you wonderful, friendly, funny blue Mancs. I'm raising a glass of Boddy's from a can to City but very much also to you tonight. Enjoy your summers! Catch you out there next season. I have to tell you -- I CANNOT wait.
Fabulous post and so refreshing to hear from somebody who supports a different club. Rather than the usual City Bingo shite it is nice to hear mate. It really is truly a fabulous era for us and we are priveleged to be part of it. Thanks again for the comments.Every football fan knows you are a class apart. Even if bile accompanies it. One thing I fucking hate is being snide about your opponent, when it’s clear they are better. Even when in the past our foes, Rangers have been better, you have to put your hands up.
I don’t bother much with twitter because it’s mainly end to end bellends where keyboard warriors spew bile and try to rain on parades. I always think, you are such a wanker and clearly in pain.
I’m guessing most of you are suffering from a hangover this morning. Or still drunk. I know I would be. I absolutely hope you cement your superiority next year with the CL. That will really fuck up all those who hate you. How good will it be to intensify that dejection?
Fucking good as good can be.
Loved the game yesterday. When you brought KDB on as a sub. I turned to the boy and laughed. Fucking DB on as a sub? And he as usual was brilliant. You lucky bastards. And that’s not meant with any malice. But you fucking are. Drink it all in and enjoy. If any twitter twat, commentator, journo or their aunty have a problem taking it, laugh in their poxy faces.
As for Pep? Class oozes out of every pore. I was pissing myself as he was putting young Sterling right on a few things. He takes fuck all for granted. Everything can and will be improved. What a guy. Have a good day and if I was you, I would be out to the pub again to ensure a three day hangover was in the post. Everytime you felt acwave of nausea you will remember why. Well fucking worth it.
