Manchester City are nailed on to win the FA Cup - the proof

There is only one club that wins the greatest play-off final with a superb last minute fightback who were overshadowed by their near neighbours' success in the Champions League final.

There is only one club in the frame for the title who go on to win it only for the TV cameras to be at another game (player by their near neighbours) and therefore only very limited highlights being available.

There is only one club that wins the Cup Winners Cup in front of a mere few thousand as it tales place in the Eastern Block and again the TV cameras had better things to do so very limited highlights are available.

This year the FA Cup Final takes place for the first time ever on the same day as a full Premier League schedule.

So City will win the Cup but hardly anyone will be watching on tele'.

Perhaps a power failure at the TV trucks will mean only a few snippets of TV coverage will be available for the generation that follow?

Maybe we can also expect Fergie to announce his retirement/Ancelloti to be sacked/Redkapp to have a heart attack to take the limited numbers of viewers over to SSN.

I suspect a few Viennese may have an issue with you describing their city as Eastern Block. Having been there myself, it is anything but ;)

Duly noted with the understanding that the infrastructure available is roughly equal to non-league grounds now?

GDM, I have never met a City fan who attended that game so what was it like as an occasion, as it was rather overlooked by our lovely press (Were U****d were doing something that night or something!!!)

7,968 attended in total.

City fans who attended are rare beasts indeed.

I'll grasp onto any straw that appears, but lets be honest the way our luck goes we'll lose to the rags at some point by a goal scored by Bebe or Obertan because like Shrek they've done fuck all this season...........until they play us!!

Thats cos these days they play us like its their cup final...a marked sign of progress for us and the accumulating sense of dread and fear gathering at the swamp

How has this bit of scheduling happened?

It's another attack on the status of the FA Cup and City logic dictates that that means we win it.

Simples ;-)

Sorry to disappoint and hope I've not misled but I was referring to Vienna the city not the ground. I was 18 months old in mid 1971, and I felt it was a bit of a long way at the time !

-- Mon Feb 21, 2011 3:20 pm --

LOL! When I read your post saying "you had been there" again it occured that you may have just visited Vienna on some less football related occasion.

Edit: I was 6 months old in mid 1970. Must have had a moment then!
