Manchester City Centre

Hi guys sorry for hijacking this thread, I will be traveling to Manchester city tomorrow and have a few questions.
We arrive at Manchester Airport and will be staying in a hotel at Manchester Victoria station.
What is the cheapest/most used way to get there? Taxi? Train?

Are there any pubs/bars that send out belgian football? Anderlecht - Genk at sunday for example :-).

Thank you for your answers!

Your first question.... Get the tram from MCR Airport and its a short walk to your hotel. A few mins if that.

For the match, it depends on what channel is showing the game. If no British broadcaster has it then its a case of finding a stream online and connecting to your hotel WiFi or something.
With it being a Sunday, most of the pubs who show foreign channels will probably be showing British matches

Its faster to get the train from the Airport to Piccadilly Station and then get a tram from Piccadilly to Victoria
The tram from the airport takes a lifetime

it's a 6 Nations Rugby weekend mate...a lot of Sports bars will have that on.
But if you need to drown your sorrows, Bar Fringe on Swan St nearby has a fair range of Belgian beers...there's another one in town as well, Tib Lane, name escapes me.

Bar Fringe sell's Jupiler beer :)

Not sure where you'll see the game unfortunately. When a few of our feyenoord friends come over, usually watch it in a pub in prestwich

Bock Bier Cafe. In the old Filthy Cow which replaced one of Manchester's finest, Lounge Ten.

You'll really struggle to find Belgian Football mate.

There's a new place not long opened called the Directors Box, on Booth Street. It is a high end sports bar where you can book a booth for your group etc

They will screen any match they can get hold of if you request it. Might be worth getting in touch with them and seeing what they can do for you. No website yet but their number is available online

Get the train not the tram from the airport. You can get a tram/taxi/walk to your hotel from Piccadilly

They were all scruffy dirty fuckers who I saw. Putting on a good act if they live in leafy suburbs! Even if you were the type to chuck em a few pennies, there at that many that you wouldn't know who to give to. It was more oxford road to deansgate past the midland and radisson so not just Piccadilly which I agree is a hole! So much has been done to Manchester in recent years to lift it up but this is bringing it down for me. I'm surprised the council are not doing more to sort it because it's definitely growing.
That would be against their human rights.....it is becoming a joke now , I usually try to ignore them but it's hard when you're getting asked for money every few hundred yards. I got pestered for money 4 times from The Castle on Oldham street to Piccadilly the other week, it's fair to say the last one got the shock of his fucking life, I'd just had enough. Manchester City centre has been allowed to become a complete shithole a third world country would be ashamed of.
