Is Pelligrini coming for two years and then Pep after that?

I dont usually comment on other peoples rumours, so i wont start now.
Maybe Txiki sees employing Pellegrini now as a way of laying out the blueprints for the whole setup of the club as he is a "Yes man".

Mancini I think would oppose Txiki a lot more than Pellegrini.

Then when the new 4-3-3 system etc is all in place, Guardiola after having his fix of dominating German football will come in and carry it on into the future.

In my opinion it is a mistake if City are going to replace Mancini but then again nobody knows what goes on behind closed doors...

We are used to possession football now we can't remember a time when 3 passes to a blue shirt was a miracle..

That's just the point though. People mistake possession football for "sublime" play and it's not. There have been very few matches this season when we haven't dominated possession but a lot of it has been in areas that are ineffective or it is too pedestrian to have a positive outcome.

Fuck me, have you been asleep these last few weeks. Chelsea, Red Shite at OT, The first goal at home to West Ham. We've played some really good stuff at times. To say "in a long time" is absolute bollocks.

That;s the thing with the way Mancini has got us playing, we are capable, at any given time, of playing some truly exceptional, attractive, football and putting any side to the sword. However, when it doesn't work, it looks slow, deliberate and toothless. Mancini's got his strengths and his faults, the fualts would seem to fall into a couple of areas, Man Management and stubbornness. He doesn't build natural relationships with his players, he's all stick and no carrot. Plus he thinks his way is the only way, and won't be aswayed by the evidence. We don't have a plan B as such, if the slow, methodical passing, and attaching centrally doesn't work then we don't really deviate too much from that. And he still insists on trying the 3-5-2 formation when each and every time we've gone to it we've looked unsettled and far from dangerous.

Personally I'm on the fence as to whether I want Mancini to go. I think if he stays I'll be happy, but I also wouldn't be crying if he left.

Great post my thoughts exactly.

He was just what we needed when he joined tightened up the defence and took no crap from prima donna's. Last year we played beautiful football!

This year well i hope we hang onto 2nd and it will be just that and i hope we win the FA Cup but it will be papering over the cracks!

We look stale its Mancini's man management skills are no longer working and its always the players fault not his! Sorry but the buck stops with him and he should be able to motivate the players for every match.

He is stubborn and a little arrogant his constant refusal to ditch 3 at the back always bites us on the arse and we have no plan B.

Maybe it is time for a change but i would be truly gutted if he left!

Matty and WW, I detect your angst at the dilema here, but surely the over-riding philosophy should therefore be; if in doubt we opt for continuity (and stability).

Just heard - the rumours are true!!
