Well we were certainly still on the lookout in the spring of 2010 and he admitted he was talking to Monaco in 2012. I think we were OK in 2011 though.

tbf to Bobby every newspaper (rag tops and broadsheets) was saying he was going to get sacked (before the scum threw it away) and I do not think that looking for a new job when you are about to probably get the sack from your old one is that big a sin, do you, really?
There was no evidence he was going to be sacked though. I'll say it again - he and his wife are desperate to be nearer their families in Italy. I certainly don't blame them for that.
That desperate he signs a 5 year contract with us?

Then he's in the wrong business.

Never understood 'homesick' footballers, or managers for that matter.

Which is why I don't believe it, no offence I'm not saying it's wrong, just me personally.

You spoke of disloyalty in rather negative terms regarding Mancini a few pages back. That certainly doesn't match up with this lack of blame you're proclaiming.

(1) I never said he was desperate to leave, I said he could not be blamed for looking around given the prevailing view was that he was likely to be sacked (2) the 5 year contract followed winning the league, it was not on offer when we were 8 points behind the scum with 6 games to go

I really don't know why they offered him that other than PR purposes but signing it doesn't stop him doing whatever he wants does it? Any my understanding is everyone knew it was really only for 3 years at most.

It could certainly explain why Guardiola went to Bayern if he thought Mancini was here for two more years and also ties in nicely with salfordpaul's info that he (PG) is coming here in 2 years.

PMSL.

"No, Khaldoon. I don't want a massive pay-rise and payoff if I'm sacked. You can keep it. What's a couple of dozen million between friends?"

And if he is desperate to resign as some are desperate to make out?

In which case Pep would have signed for 2 years? I don't buy the Pep story at all to be honest PB.

This was 12 months ago. But even if he knew then he was only doing another year (and I'm not saying he did) then he'd be a lunatic not to sign a new, better contract.
