So City have been invited to participate in the EFL Trophy next season in a new, revamped format.

Having read the format and the rules I have to say I'm incredibly excited about this. It's a chance for us to see our young stars play locally at a reasonably high standard, tickets will be cheap, the majority of the games are local and should be easy to get to (and against opposition we wouldn't have played recently).
United have rejected their invitation to participate, something I hope City avoid as I'd really look forward to this. It'll be something different and might give those of us who'd like to see the local lads involved a taste of 'proper football' again.
What do you think?
