Manchester City - Premier League Champions 2018/2019

Hello guys

I haven t posted in a while on here.

Just came back to Congratulate everyone on here and everybody involved with Manchester City football club, everybody who worked hard , including the Fans and especially the match going fans who have been instrumental during the last few games.

What a great season it have been , I hope that next year you push it well over 100 points just to have another epic race as well as I hope come next time we come one better and beat you to it (we need to play much better and be less reliable on luck)

Finally good luck for the FA cup final and the domestic treble , this one gonna annoy the Red Mancs big time.

Congrats again guys.

From a Liverpool Fan :)

Reading the headlines I would like to congratulate LFC to the well deserved title win 2019 after a fantastic performance!.. :-/

All that "fine margins and 11-or-29.5-mm rubbish" is extremely getting on my nerves.

No one in the public has the guts to say it like it is:

Pickford +2 points
Rico +2 points
Speroni +2 points
Lloris +2 points
Mahrez pen +1 point and City -2 points
Milner 2 miles offside at WHU +1 point.
---------------------------------------------
12 fuckin points from pure luck where dippers didn't have any influence, without even talking about dodgy penalties.

Fine margins, pff.
I am ready to negotiate my calculation but I don't remember comparable PL situations where City has been that lucky.

In my book LFC had a well respectable 87 points season and some really good matches, esp CL.
Will be interesting if they are able to repeat such a - in every respect - perfect season.
I doubt that very much.

Understat expected points table has them 83.45 and us at 90.64. https://understat.com/league/EPL/2018

Next season will be tough but we’ll strengthen, hopefully Kev will be fit and play more, the Dippers won’t get 17 offside goals with VAR, Salah won’t get so many pens from brushes against his arm and maybe three goalkeepers won’t throw balls into their own net. I really think the Dippers had a bit of a helping hand this year and some incredible good fortune that’s not likely to be repeated. That said I can see them getting 90 points so we will have to be on our game from the off. If we can see the Dippers off next year - we might see Klopp off as well.

Yeah, even with those helping hands I think Liverpool displayed a lot of mental toughness this season and I can't see them falling off a cliff next term. They'll surely be our main challengers again. Perhaps Spurs might have a say if they actually give their manager a decent amount to strengthen for a change, but outside of that I can't see how Arsenal or Chelsea are going to bridge the gap, and United look the weakest of the entire top 6.

Every one of the 4 Premier League titles has felt wonderful and yet different. I didn't think anything could surpass the Aguero moment but If I was forced to have a favourite it was yesterday. The consistent excellence of this squad is just beyond belief. Every aspect of their performance has been unreal from goalkeeper to offence. The whole squad have played their part and everyone has contributed but the standouts for me have been Eddie, Aymeric, Bernardo, Raz and Kun. Special mention for Captain Fantastic Vinnie whose goal on Monday was the title defining special moment.
I didn't have any doubts yesterday even when Liverpool and then Brighton scored. Such is my confidence in this squad. Hats off to Pep and the entire coaching staff who have created an environment which is very special. No cliques, no ego, just brilliant technical footballers who give everything for each other and our beautiful blue shirt. It isn't just the winning of titles, it is how we do it that is so special. Nobody helped us, no dodgy penalties or offside goals given for us, most 50/50 decisions given against us, the entire media wishing for a Liverpool win. Nobody could stop us winning and winning by playing the most beautiful football ever played in this country.

Thank you Pep, thank you Sheik Mansour, thank you to the coaching staff and squad, thank you to all fellow blues who have made the atmosphere at the Etihad the best it has ever been this season. What a time to be a blue and what the hell will the next two seasons bring?

Sums up my thoughts.

Our boys were the ones starting the false rumours of phantom Brighton goals to get them excited too, they are not happy at Wolves fans at all for singing mocking songs all afternoon. They even went as far as to say that we ruined the biggest day out we're ever likely to have in our sad lives watching them win the league!

It's a bit surreal winning it this season, especially on how I felt after Newcastle defeat, and when scousers looked to have it in the bag. A more exciting and pleasing title win than last season IMO. We just need to focus on the cup final now to totally dominate English football this season.

I still have to pinch myself on all of this success. Happy daze: )

I suppose anything can, and does, happen in football though. Liverpool finished 25 points behind us last season. So saying last summer that they would push us all the way is like saying Chelsea will push us close next season (they finished 26 points behind us). It would have sounded bizarre, yet it happened. It just takes some inspired signings, getting rid of some bad eggs, and an entire squad can change its mentality.

Yep, good points. Chelsea had a great start under Sarri before things started to go wrong. If they stick with him and he gets more of his type of players in, I guess they could bridge at least part of the current points gap. I do think, however, that despite finishing 25 points behind us last season Liverpool showed enough signs that they would give us a challenge this season.

I agree on Liverpool, they were showing signs of improvement.

Another good example of how quickly things can change from one season to the next is us! Pep’s first season we finished 15 points behind Chelsea. Then the season after we were Centurions and 30 points above them! All we had to do was sell Kolarov, Clichy and Sagna and buy some younger more mobile fullbacks haha! Easy this football lark ;) There’ll be big money spent again, so if any team gets their squad re-shuffle spot on, they’ll be up there.
