Manchester City - Premier League Champions 2022/23

I think back to my Grandad, telling me about Hyde Road and about City missing promotion one year by some tiny fraction of a goal. Of my other Grandad, who used to give my Mother 2d (not 2p) to peel potatoes for their chippy so he could go to Maine Road. Of my Dad, who took me to Maine Road for the first time in 1964/5 when we were a joke, and later drove me up to Newcastle to see us win the Title in 1968.

I ain't getting bored by success any time soon.

Can't help noticing, though, that in their world, no girls play football.
England women's team, anyone? Seem to remember they picked up a trophy recently.
Saving that for when the Raggettes are awarded their first title next weekend as that's when the sport will finally be recognised as a legitimate one...

Was just listening to a pod cast in the car. They said that City winning the title was met with only the very slightest of shoulder shrugs. Then went on to say that everyone else phoned it in this season, bemoaning the world cup, the queen dying, the fixture schedule, VAR, the PL not supporting teams in Europe, and just a general apathy towards the entire season...etc

I don't think we will ever see another season with Liverpool, Chelsea, Spurs and United all having a stinker. Then you've got Arsenal, Newcastle, Brighton and Villa all stepping up into the mix. Although, they will probably struggle to balance European football and the PL. Something that Pep has managed to get right consistently.

That nonchalance compares unfavourably with the full on wankfest in Feb when the media thought Arsenal were gonna win the title…
